We booked this hotel for a week through Inghams as we were attending a friend's wedding.

On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist who showed us our room (a suite on the 3rd floor) and carried out cases up.

The room was a good size with a modern feel. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath - which, unless you turned the power down was a little on the enthusiastic side! - and was very clean. The rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard. We had two balconies overlooking the most beautiful view of Lake Garda and down to the castle in Malcesine.

The hotel itself is situated about 15 mins walk to the north of the castle, just close enough to walk and far enough away that the waterfront was quiet and peaceful.

The waterfront itself has a well maintained pontoon with seating available, which is a lovely spot for a coffee, lunch or dinner. The hotel has plenty of sun loungers which you can take to the waterfront or use in the garden area. They have fantastic screens that can be used to shade your face - very handy if you are trying to read!

The food here is more than excellent! It is probably the best hotel food we have ever had! Every day is different and they offer: an optional appetiser, a choice of 3 starters and 3 mains, a dessert and a salad buffet. The wine list is extensive and ranges from wallet-friendly €13 bottles all the way to €400 bottles! I don't think they serve wine by the glass (I never asked) but you can buy a bottle, drink some, leave it at the table and the rest will be kept and served to you the following night, along with any water you didn't finish.

The waiters and waitresses are very friendly, attentive and knowledgable.

There is an indoor pool (which, as you can imagine, is not used very often) and a jacuzzi. I have seen that a couple of people have mentioned that the jacuzzi water is the same temperature as the pool. However, they are thinking of a 'hot tub' - this is a jacuzzi and does exactly what it is supposed to do! It's a nice spot to relax after a long day in the sun. We always had the jacuzzi to ourselves!

On our day of departure, we were being collected from the hotel at 7am - too early for breakfast. However, the lovely lady at reception, arranged for us to have coffee and breakfast brought to our room before 7 at no charge.

Overall, we have loved every minute of our peaceful stay here and would definitely come back to stay at Hotel Europa again!

Grazie! to the owners and staff.

:)

The water of Lago di Garda at 15m ... Very good service at a reasonnable price. The breakfast offers more choise than some 5-star hotels. The rooms have all comfort, only the shower was a little bit too small...

Room Tip: Room with view on the lake (west-side)

This was our third visit to this hotel, this time stayed just 5 nights on B&B basis. We like the friendly feel of the family and their staff who are always around to help. Lake view rooms are a must preferably on the first or second floors. There is a pleasant garden and a small jetty into the lake which is ideal for those afternoon drinks before going out for the evening. We took our evening meals in town which is only about a 10-15 min pleasant walk along the lakeside. Rooms are quite adequate and kept clean with frequent changes of bed linen and towels. Wifi is excellent even out on the lake jetty.
Would we stay again ? Certainly would put it on our list if we come to this beautiful North end of Lake Garda

We stayed in this hotel hoping to spend a nice anniversary in Malcesine. The hotel staff were informed that we would be spending our special day there and while I was not expecting a bottle of champagne in the room, I would expect some kind of friendly welcome. We were assigned a rather average room, just over the garage, with the tiniest balcony possible which you couldn't even use because of all the cars passing by and the total lack of privacy.(The passers by could actually see into our room so we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time). The tables at the breakfast room were assigned as well and we got one in the back of the dining room without a lake view really (breakfast was decent). We did not feel that the staff were in any way friendly, accommodating nor interested in us as guests. The pool is a bit of a joke as it is indoors(!) and is tiny and mainly used by kids. There is a restaurant which we didn't feel like trying out after the rather cold service received at the bar.The beach is not really private and the access to water is quite uncomfortable. Many other hotels have a wooden jetty which is so much better.Wifi was not strong in our room.Garage was free of charge but at more than 220 euros per night it should be included in the price anyway. The only good thing I can think of is the cleanliness of the room and the pleasant 15 minute walk to the town.I would not recommend this hotel as there are so many others(even just a (hundred metres away from Europa hotel or in nearby towns) that have nicer beach areas,a warmer decor and a much friendlier atmosphere.

We popped in here for food after parking nearby. The restaurant is well located right on the beach with views across the lake. We ordered lunch and it arrived after a short wait, the food was ok, nothing special although the pizza's were certainly large. The price was reasonable but this isn't somewhere I would go out of my way to eat, just somewhere convenient.
