Really disappointed as the menu and ethos is exactly what we were looking for. Unfortunately nothing hit the spot and food was confused. The highlight was the starter we shared, a chick pea flatbread with octopus & courgette, it was good, unusual but flavoursome the only issue was the octopus was a little lost. This was the problem with the whole meal. Everything was Ok, but the star ingredient was lost. I had the gnocchi with octopus, unfortunately as delicious as the tomato sauce it came in was, it meant I could barely taste the occtopus it was there for texture alone. The calamari with mushrooms had the opposite issue, we could taste the ingredients but unfortunately the texture was all wrong, slippery mushrooms with slippery calamari no other texture. Tasted ok but by half way through slippery becomes slimy and you begin to yearn for crunch! There were a tiny amount of tomatoes but not enough to give texture.
A real shame. Obviously quality ingredients and the menu sounds wonderful. Nothing tasted bad, all tasted fine in fact but needs a few tweaks to be really good. Has potential.
