Excellent hotel! We had a lovely stay here for 3 days. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast with a lot of variety, spa facilities were really nice and we enjoyed the pool, sauna, and steam rooms. The hotel is well located, we were able to walk from the hotel into the town easily. There is ample parking at the hotel, never had any problems.

Our room was in the older part of the hotel, was a bit dark in there and also slightly warm as there was no AC (in June). There were also not many outlets in the room. But aside from that, was a great place to stay!

This is out 3rd winter holiday at this lovely hotel.
We were advised about the hotel by a friend and are so pleased it was recommended to us.

Room. We book the same room each year which has an extra bed should our son wish to join us. It is very modern and has a balcony facing the sun should you wish to sit out.
Free wi fi. Electronic safe in large wardrobe. Also a wardrobe by entrance for storing outside clothing. It's a cool area should you wish to bring your fur!!!

Breakfast. Buffet style with hot and cold food. The staff take your orders for hot drinks. The first year we were surprised that breakfast wasn't served until 8 but soon realised the slopes here do not get too busy. Food in the area is cheap compared to Switzerland so if we wish to have a full day on The Sella Ronda, we just leave early and breakfast on the slopes.
Pool area. There is a decent sized pool and sauna. The sauna doesn't get hot until 3pm and the pool opens at 10. Having a rest from the slopes I had the pool all to myself this morning. It can get busy later in the day when guests come back from the slopes.

Bar area. There is a bar with prosecco on tap!!!! Only in Italy. Latte Macchiato after a swim goes down a treat. Wi fi works in this area. Relaxed area with plenty of seating and free Italian newspapers.

Boot room. Quite a large area compared to some hotels with heated boot holders. It's in a secure area from the indoor car park so not accessable to non guests as some hotels I have stayed in.

Car parking. Limited at front of hotel if vehicle with top box won't fit in garage. Staff very obliging and will move your car if blocking someone in so as not to disturb you early in the morning.
Importantly there is a lift in the garage should you not feel inclined to climb stairs after a full day skiing.

Location. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the centre of Cortina. We were dubious about this the first time we stayed but found we enjoyed more fresh air and a good walk after dinner. The path into town is along the old railway track and brings you out at The Falloria cable car. Or you can drop down onto the main road sooner along the path.
We like to sleep with a window open so the noise of the traffic may disturb some people or early deliveries.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to take you to the slopes and pick you up should you be here without transport.
You cannot miss the hotel from the road as it's beautifully lit up at night.
You are also a short walk from The Majestic Miramonte hotel featured in 007 film For Your Eyes Only, should you wish for a change of venue for coffee.Worth a visit.

Reception staff. Always very helpful booking restaurants, taxis etc. Paula is a mine of information and has given us some great advice on where to eat. Also they will book ski instruction/guiding.

We hadn't planned around this, but find that the Women's downhill ski race is this weekend and The Austrian Women's team are staying here. We are quite star struck and in awe of these professional athletes. We wish you all the best for your races.

Room Tip: I have my favourite room and won't disclose which it is so it's available when I wish to stay.

I don't often write reviews but this was such a disappointment I had to warn others. At half the price it might just have been bearable.

Our room 28 was big but the bathroom was too small. The room in the old part was very dark. We spoke to staff about this as soon as we arrived. They brought one extra light which didn't work properly and nothing else was done about the lack of light. We spent the holiday using torches on our phones to search around the room.

The food, at this price, was terrible. Poor quality ingredients, poorly presented. We ate just as well at a motorway services in Austria. The only reasonable quality options were brought out after most people had eaten on tiny trays so there was no where near enough to to go around.

Breakfast started at 8am which is too late to get to the slopes for the first lifts.

The ski room does not have enough ski boot dryers for everyone. So if you get back at the end of the day your boots stay damp overnight.

The pool and sauna steam room were good. But the pool was too cold for the first half of the week.

The bar area is small with a limited selection of drinks. The dining room is underground with no windows.

Our room faced onto a noisy main road with traffic from the early hours through to late at night.

The small number of Italian staff were friendly. Overall the hotel felt unfriendly and there was no atmosphere at all, even though we stayed over new year.

We've stayed in hotels in the area that were cheaper and 100's of times better.

At 2 star prices I would have been happy. At 4 star prices, it's a complete rip off.

Firstly throughout the reservation in August the staff were extremely helpful which was only a taste of the rest of the too short stay.
The Hotel is so thoroughly well designed (we stayed in the new part) with large panorama windows looking over the Dolomites from the bed. Amazing! The beds are so comfortable, Bath with a large shower, an excellent Spa but the staff is just what makes this place above many others.
I particularly recommend this for the summer where the days are longer and most other Alpine hotels have the classic small windows but i would stay here again any time of the year. A small help note it would be nice if the Spa was open longer in the summer.
A winner

I stayed at Lajadira for 5 nights in Sep 2016 and it left me with very mixed feelings. The location is very good - a15min walk from the city center, a parking is avaiable and there is also a bus stop right by. The spa is great, with a decent size swimmingpool, a choice of saunas and a cosy tarrace with a view on 5 Torri. The staff was extremly friendly and helpful too - we felt very welcomed. Breakfast could use a bit more of variety but all in all - it was good. Unfortunately the rooms in the old wing are...pretty old. Luckily the bathrooms were renewed. This nonetheless did not prevent some pipes problems which resulted in our shower being practicly unusable on our last day:/ i suppose this might have happened anywhere but the thing is that we shared our concerns about the quality/functioning of the pipes system a day earlier and nothing seemed to be done about it.
