“Gorgeous lodge with spectacular view, lovely garden and excellent location”
Reviewed 14 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We have just finished a one week stay in the OlivePress Lodge. We chose to stay in Chiavari as it is a good base to explore the nearby seaside towns and we are glad it is a right decision. We went to the Cinque Terre by train and drove to SML, Camogli, Rappalo by car. All are within 30 minutes job. Communication before arrival is swift and Thomas provide useful information on the driving direction. We arrived early at about noon and he was very understanding and accommodating in allowing us to check in early. The location of the lodge could not be better. It is situated in a quiet part of the town with gorgeous view of the sea and the town and yet within 15 minutes you are within the town. The distance is just good enough for you to have a nice walk after dinner to burn off the excess calories from the pasta. There is a daily fresh food market in the main Piazza every morning whereby you could get some very nice vege, cheese, ham and pasta for having a meal in the cozy lodge. If not there are many good place to eat in town and among those the Luchin and the Vittoria are our favourite. We are welcome by Thomas and Adriana with fresh flowers and basket of fresh fruits including the tasting lemons from the garden, and a bottle of white wine. Adriana has done a marvellous job in maintaining a superb garden with lovely flowers everywhere. I cannot help spending a lot of the time appreciating the gorgeous flowers. The lodge is gorgeous and to me is even better than what was shown in the pictures. It is very tastefully decorated and well equipped with everything you need. All the rooms are brightly lit by the sunshine from the warm and rising sun and we like this very much. The lovely garden with the table and chairs under the olive tree is our favourite. So much so that we only wanted to venture out in the morning and come back every afternoon to relax and enjoy sunshine in the garden. Thomas and Adriana are excellent host and will go all the way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They live next door and so will attend our need right away. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We are the first guest in the spring season and so there was no salt or pepper in the kitchen. After knowing this Adriana got me pepper , salt , paprika etc and even some other spice that I didn't even need. I bought a can of very nice olive oil from them and they are kind enough to provide me carton and partition and tape so that I could put all the goodies I have bought into it safely and pack them home. There are still so many good things I want to say about the lodge but the limited space here really is not enough for them. I high recommend this place if you are planning to explore the Ligure region and I myself will definitely be planning to come back.

“Heaven on Earth Getaway”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed here and absolutey LOVED it. The gardens are beautiful and the owners are delightful kind people very accommodating hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We arrived in the afternoon and Thomas showed us to our lodge and around the grounds. Its situated a short 15 minute walk into the heart of town. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful at night and the bed was so comfortable. Everything is clean and tidy and the photo's do not do it justice. Way more picturesque in reality. Do yourself a favour and stay here. We will definitely be back.

“Beautiful clean house managed by friendly and helpful hosts”
Reviewed 16 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Chiavari is not that nice, but it is a perfect spot to explore the area. The house is not located in the nicest neighbourghood but once you are inside you forget about the rest. The gardens are beautiful and every detail has been taken into account to ensure a perfect atmosphere. Even the decoration inside the house is detail oriented. The owners are really friendly and helped us with any question or special bookings. We loved exploring Portofino and going to the sandy beaches of Sestri Levante.
