The facade of this restaurant is so low-key, we walked by it a couple of times before realizing we were there. Upon arriving, the owner was welcoming and eager to help with our menu selections. He listened to our poor Italian politely yet also spoke English very well. The cold appetizer is a must—a visual treat and wonderfully fresh. The mussels were sweet and tender—each one a jewel—with a broth that begged to be sopped up. They were probably the best we have had. The gnocchi with shrimp and pesto was delicious—the pesto flavorful, but not overpowering. The highlight was the fritto misto. A variety of seafood that was delicate and tender in a poof of crispy batter. The absolute best we've had. In addition to the wonderful food, the seating outside is prime for people watching as they walk along the canal and ride the traghetto on their way between Gabicce and Cattolica.
