A must see and do! Excellent wine and food amongst a beautiful panoramic view of Chianti. Watch a beautiful sunset while sipping exquisite wine.

Poggio Amorelli claims to be a small winery, but instead is a factory for private car service tour drivers to bring English speaking tourist.

The amazing thing is that they hide that fact extremely well and orchestrate a truly special day.

We started with a tour. The kids loved the chickens and the rooster named Rocco.

Lunch was very nice as we tasted the wines to our hearts content. Of course we got to taste several special items like the 36 year balsamic vinegar and the”Gloria” only because they are open (which they always are).

Of course, I bought the wine, which was overpriced for Italy, but under priced for California.

I only take away a star because there are so many other wineries not built for tourism that I’d personally enjoy more. With that said, if you want a personal wine tour, sweeping views of the Tuscan hills, a nice multi course lunch, high quality wine and an overall relaxing day, this is your place.

This was our first wine tour while in Tuscany and it was our favorite! The ambience was gorgeous, the tour guide/server was excellent, the food was delicious (truffle pasta was superb!), and the wine was exquisite! We loved every second of the winery.

While everything was amazing, I feel the winery took advantage of foreign customers by converting euros to dollars which basically ended up charging us a conversion fee. When confronted about it he said we have to ask or they automatically convert. Not one time in all my stay in Europe did someone do that to us so they haggled us so beware!
Other than that I was great and we took a lot of wine home and ate great food. I'm just really upset about not being told about the fee upfront.
