“Perfect place to relax”

We had a wonderful week at Le Ripe. The location is perfect – ideal for exploring the region or for doing absolutely nothing. Fantastic and inexpensive restaurant at the end of the road as well. The property itself is lovely, well equipped and has a very homely feel to it, helped by Leitha and Fabio being such great hosts (always around and wonderfully friendly whenever you need them but careful not to compromise your privacy). We visited in mid-winter and, whilst we were undoubtedly lucky with the weather, wouldn't hesitate to recommend a winter visit. We enjoyed huddling round the wood burner, watching the moody weather over the Tuscan hills and of course the complete lack of tourists!

“Idyllic & tranquil in every respect!”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We have just returned from a week spent at Le Ripe, a more perfect base for exploring everything that the Region has to offer, I'm not sure you'd find. Admittedly the narrow access road was a challenge on our first attempt, but once at the property & having had such a welcome from Leitha, we took in the surroundings & the views & knew we were going to enjoy our week immensely.
The property has been tastefully restored & furnished in a traditional style with everything you could expect by way of facilities. There are great restaurants a short drive a way, along with a good local shop for provisions. This property & location are simply beautiful & we would highly recommend it to anyone considering a booking. We will certainly visit again!
Thank you again Leitha

“Le Ripe, Perfect Chianti Getaway”

We spent 6 days at Le Ripe, a fantastic cottage perched on a hill over looking the town of Lucarelli in Chianti, only a few km's from Panzano. Leith and Fabio are great hosts and offer you any ideas on travel or sightseeing in the local area, which is beautiful. There is a steep rocky road up to Le Ripe, and the views of the area are stunning. It's a worl away from busy Florence and only 1 hour by bus, as you would not want to take a car into Florence, believe me!! In any case the local bus takes you through the great Chianti countryside, just outside Firenze. There is fantasitic restaurant at the bottom of the hill, Osteria Le Panzanelle, with a huge range of local wines and great well priced meals, you will have a great nigh! Within easy reach of many of the best this region has to offer including Siena, San Gimignano, Florence and beautiful Hill Towns like Volpaia. Panzano has a Coop supermarket and other restaurants and great wine tasting. Greve is only a few km's past Panzano and the Piazza in the town is a gem, of you want to buy a leather belt, you can't go past the little leather shop-forget the Florence leather markets for a belt, this is the real deal measured on the spot no bs just great service.
Le Ripe is a great cottage with everything you will need, including a fireplace and local wildlife!

“Perfect Location to see all of Tuscany, A true paradise!”
Reviewed 9 July 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We spent a long time looking for the ideal cottage in Tuscany to use as a home base for exploring all of the wonderful sights this region has to offer.

Our search criteria made it very difficult to find the right place.
Had to be centrally located in Tuscany.
Had to be away from highway and busy streets but still offer easy access.
Had to have a nice fireplace to spend our nights talking about the day and sharing a glass of wine.
Had to not have a TV as we wanted a true vacation.
Had to have a nice kitchen so that we could cook breakfast each day and a few dinners.
Had to have a nice view that could be enjoyed from a covered patio in case of rain.
Had to be away from a city.
Had to be a private location as we didn't want to feel that we were in a hotel.

A long list of must haves that we almost gave up on finding. Then we came across Le Ripe. It seemed to be too good to be true. Every item on our list was there along with amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. Something had to be wrong, it would be booked for the time we needed, it wouldn't meet up to our expectations, something.

Well I am very happy to say that there is no place in Tuscany that could have been better for us to celebrate our 35th anniversary.
We spend 7 wonderful days at Le Ripe in March. The weather was cold but that made the fireplace all the better.
Every day we headed off in a different direction to see the sights of Tuscany and the surrounding region. From Radda to Greve, Sienna to Florence, Cinque Terre to Lucca, Montipulciano to Montalcino. Le Ripe is the perfect location to do it all.

There are too many good things to say about Le Ripe to cover here. I can only confirm that all of the other reviews are completely true and accurate.

To update a few items that we saw in other reviews;
We found the bed to be very comfortable. I didn’t look to see if Leitha added a mattress topper, but it was comfortable.
The cottage now has very good Wi-Fi service. This allowed us to keep up on some e-mails and even make a few Skype calls.

Thank you for a wonderful time and sharing Le Ripe with us.

PS, Just finished a batch of limoncello, thanks for the tips on making it.

We spent a wonderful week in the Tuscan countryside with Le Ripe as our home base. Its central location makes Le Ripe the perfect jumping off place for all manner of adventures. The cottage is quiet, spacious, well-equipped, and surrounded by lovely gardens and storybook vistas. And it just happens to have a Michelin-rated osteria at the bottom of the driveway! Leitha was immediately responsive to all requests and great at providing guidance; the perfect host. Highly recommended!
