we ordered four common margheritas and we had to call them 3 times. When they finally arrived it was the worst pizzas we ever had. Forget this pizzeria.

The professionality and passion of the pizza masters and the best local ingredients make this the best tasting pizza, highly digestible. The staff is kind, welcoming and expert. This is definitely the best pizza I've ever eaten!

The pizza was very light and most enjoyable
We found it very difficult to park safely
We parked across the road but i had to leave the restaurant to move the car
The young people who served us were friendly and nice
However the female who took the money was not so friendly a smile would have been great

Eccellenza! !! Hubby was used to be stationed in Naples and this was the pizza place of our choice. And still was on this vacation trip 15 years later. 15 anni dopo date ancora na puzza stupenda!

We live in the USA and vacation only once a year. It's true to say that, when we are not in il Diavoletto, we dream about being there. Yes, it's that good.
There are 3 reasons we recommend this place:
1) The food.
This is the place in Italy where you will think your Grandma is alive and working in the kitchen. Yes, there is a menu to order from, but also make sure you peek through the glass display into the kitchen to see what specials Giulia and Luciano have prepared for you today...perhaps there will be fresh zucchini flowers stuffed with three cheeses and prosciutto, an assortment of fried delights, or fire-roasted artichoke hearts (in season) and local greens sauteed with garlic, oil, and red pepper flakes. There is a choice of grilled sausages, chops, and that heavenly grilled pancetta. Then...the pizza! Surely the best in Caserta, with your choice of toppings. We've tried many...from the most simple (Margherita) to our requested (onion, garlic, anchovy) and have never been disappointed. Even though they come from the same oven, pizzas can be like snowflakes (no two are ever alike), but at il Diavoletto they are consistently sauced, never too doughy, and always cooked thoroughly. The next time we visit, we will try their panuozzo...which, we've heard around town, is the very best in Campania. Wine and beer choices are very reasonably priced. Save room for dessert (or do as we've learned, and take it "d'asporto" - "to go") because everything in the dessert cart (that you will see upon entering the front room) is homemade by Giulia. Custard-filled cakes (again, using seasonal fruits ie, local apples in autumn), sfolgliatelle, and, if your timing is right, Zeppole San Giuseppe. If you were lucky enough to have had an Italian grandma, these are the foods of your childhood.
2) The owners and staff.
Food this good can only be made by people who care, and it is obvious the kitchen is full of loving hands. The owners, Luciano and Giulia are always on premises (yes...always!) and, charmingly, you might see their young twin daughters doing their homework at the front table. On our last visit, their older daughter helped us by calling our vacation rental landlord, to let them know our estimated time of arrival. While English is not fluently spoken here, there always seems to be someone close-by who speaks a bit of it, if necessary (either family, a neighborhood friend, or a former-employee who'd studied abroad & just dropped in to say hello). But, rest-assured, you do not need to speak even a bit of Italian in order to be treated well here. The dining room staff are courteous, professional, and efficient.
3) The atmosphere.
Do not come here expecting bone-china, crystal goblets and tuxedoed waiters. Come here to see the real crown of Caserta...the people. Because, during your time at il Diavoletto, you will observe a perfect cross-section of all types of citizens; working professionals, young families, mature couples, teenagers, and groups of friends. Do not be surprised to find a crowd on weekend evenings...but do not turn away, either! The front room will most-likely be full of customers taking their orders to-go, but the helpful staff will guide you to the main dining room where tables, chairs (and a large-screen tv) await you.
The fact is, you only need one reason to come to il Diavoletto...the food. (Please check our photos) But, what a treasure to know #2 and #3 are reasons to return!
