On the positive side, the owners are very nice and uncomplicated people. Everything was well organized and whatever questions or support was needed at the time of handover or after that, help was provided swiftly. The apartment was in a good condition; the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were clean and comfortable and there was a new washing machine. The apartment is relatively small and because of the sloped ceiling (it is located under the roof), at least half of one of the bedrooms had a height that does not allow even a child to stand up straight. The situation in the other bedroom was a little better and in the kitchen I had to bow my head when standing in front of the sink doing the dishes. The pictures of the flat displayed on the website do not reflect this limitation.
Also, access to the washing machine was a challenge as it was inside a den with a door that was only one meter high. Getting the laundry in and out required acrobatic skills even for my very slim wife.
As many other reviewers stated, the vicinity of the apartment to the beach was really great, but this also had a downside. The cafes and restaurants at the beach across the street played very loud music every evening that lasted well beyond 1:00 a.m. which was really disturbing.
The worst thing was the smell of the sewage that originated from the drain holes on the balcony. Though we have been advised by the owners to pour water into the siphon of those holes to block the odor, what we regularly did, the shallowness of the siphon made the water evaporate quite quickly and after a few hours on the beach, the smell inside the apartment was unbearable as the external unit of the air condition was right next to the drain hole picking up the smell and blowing it into the apartment. Keeping the windows open instead to avoid heating up of the apartment did not help as the smell then came in through the open window.
