The appartment is well equipped, and felt almost like a home from home as it was far more spacious than many we have stayed in.
The location is fantastic, close enough for a stroll down to Charlestown for a meal, a drink or to enjoy the beach and harbour, but far enough away not to have any noise either. Set back from the road, with a communal car park in front also meant we were shielded from any road noise.
Charlestown itself is a fantastic base, close to main roads to get out and about by car and to footpaths and Cycle Route 3 if you fancy walking - the walk to Pentewan on bank holiday Monday was great, particularly with the weather.
Local amenities are good, with Tesco and Asda close by for a supermarket shop as well as for filling up on petrol.
Wreckers and The Pier House both provided excellent meals and both are a short walk from the appartment.
Pinetum Gardens are local, relaxing and very beautiful.
The Free Methodist Church in St Austell were very welcoming on Sunday morning, a good sized congregation with a mix of ages.
Further afield, Healey's Cyder Farm, home to Rattler Cyder, The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens if Helligan are well with visiting if you have the time.
All in all, a fantastic base in terms of location, and a beautiful property.
Charlestown is full of old world charm and yet centrally located for all of the south Cornwall coast. The apartment is but a short walk to the harbour all be it downhill going, uphill on return !! We soon felt at home as everything we needed was to hand.
The cleanliness of the apartment was 1st class. There is a fine choice of eateries in Charlestown to suit everyone's taste plus a very interesting and informative museum.
We couldn't fault a thing, a wonderful holiday.
Excellent apartment, fully equipped with everything we needed and more. Gorgeous local produce waiting for us on arrival together with Easter chocolates. The cleanliness of the property was outstanding. We will be back again
Superb! We took our grandchildren for a half-term break to Charlestown and No. 1 Waterwheel Apartment was every bit as nice as it looks in the photos - immaculately clean on arrival, fantastically well equipped and with a lovely welcome pack to greet us. We would have loved to be able to use the enclosed garden, but just a little too cold in late October!
Ideally placed for the Eden Project, Fowey etc. and it's an easy walk into the delightful historic harbour of Charlestown (bring out your inner Poldark?!)
Do not hesitate if you are considering this place - it's great!!
This is a beautiful and well equipped apartment in a perfect position. On arrival we received some local 'goodies' including fresh scones, jam and clotted cream. It is just a short walk down the hill to the harbour of Charlestown with a good selection of places to eat. The harbour itself is interesting along with the Shipwreck museum and access to the coastal path. It is also possible to walk (about 15 mins) to the local Asda. Lost Garden s of Heligan, the Eden Project and Mevagisey are a short drive away. The apartment has a small garden area which, unfortunately, we were not able to take advantage of due to the weather. Would definitely recommend.
