We enjoyed our stay in the cabin, felt like home. Amazing cycle track around the lake. Owner gave very useful info about the cabin and activities arount Grafham Lake. Parking is not a problem because you're informed in advance about the wooden stumps lining the path. Thanks Zoe for renting your cabin to us. Dineke and Kees
Pros:
Lovely peaceful location.
Modern kitchen.
Cons:
Damp smelling towels
Tired soft furnishings - see photo of a bedroom curtain which was also torn.
Wireless works best upstairs.
After a long day exploring there is only one hard old sofa for 2 to relax on.
Old pillows with dirty brown dribble marks throughout where the stuffing has separated and lumpy - unhygienic & pictured.
Parking - at night there are no lights along the private road and plenty of unlit posts which measure about 1ft from the ground. Along with tight bends it's easy for the car to be damaged. Although that's not the ultimate responsibility of the lodges owner they should be lit up or covered in reflective stickers.
Of course everyone has different standards, however, regardless of the nightly rate we expect clean workable amenities.
