“peaceful getaway”
Reviewed 9 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Loved our stay at petit dorrels.Be aware if you are tall you will have a few bruises when going upstairs as ceiling height there very low and would not recommend for elderly as old wooden stairs while being very quaint are treacherous!!!!

Beautiful wood burner to enjoy if evening is chilly.

Local town of coutomer only about 10 minute drive and village the other direction even nearer I believe.

Need to research opening times of restaurants as very different from England!!!.

We loved our break surrounded by fields, chickens and horses.

Jane provided 12 eggs and a bottle of wine on arrival which was lovely and said not to buy any eggs she had plenty and immediately we had another 12. Much appreciated

Glad you enjoyed it and sorry we were so busy with the horses we didn't have much time so socialize. April and May are our busiest months with foalings and stud visits so we do suffer from lack of sleep! Best wishes Jane

“quirky cottage, great location”
Reviewed 14 October 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a fantastic holiday here. The cottage is lovely - lots of nooks and crannies, low ceilings in places but well equipped and very comfortable. The garden isn't huge but the pool was lovely in the hot weather and the very welcoming (english) owners allowed us to go wherever we wanted on the huge estate. This is a horse lovers paradise, with horses and foals galore and we were able to see horses being trained and even a pregnant mare being scanned by the vet. We also fished in the lake and made friends with the cats and chickens. The location is great with many small towns within easy reach and a village just up the road with all the shops you need. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, this is the place to go.
