“A place you'll want to keep going back to.”
Reviewed 17 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We had high expectation of this holiday and were not disappointed. La Maison du Gardien is a piece of history in an area steeped in the past.
From the moment we arrived, greeted by a couple you seemed to have been friends with all your life, the stresses of every day life evaporated. We immediately felt at home and were very quickly making plans for our next visit.
The cottage looks picture postcard from the outside and there really is no detail left undone. The inside has it's historic charm in place but with all the amenities necessary so that you are not required to live the medieval lifestyle of many some other rural accommodation in France.
The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated and there are large bathroom and shower facilities (upstairs and down).
The private swimming pool is superb and was for our sole use. It's clear waters under pine trees and a blue sky were idyllic. It was difficult to tear my wife from the pool side.
The cottage fits perfectly into an area of outstanding beauty where many of the sites we wished to visit were only minutes away.
The owners were very welcoming and provided good advice on the places to visit but were not overwhelming so that you could always enjoy complete privacy.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and cannot recommend it more highly. If you want to tour the area to see the 1000 château and the countless prehistoric sites in the area or just chill by the pool, this is the place for you.
Thank you Cat and Steve for a lovely week.
