A group of nine of us arrived, in mid-December for a little outing on the slopes. We don't ski often, so were a little unsure as to what to expect at a fully catered ski chalet. As it turned out, the hosts Kevin and Lee gave us all a very welcoming and from arrival our glasses were never empty. Being so looked after made the trip an absolute pleasure, which goes from being dropped at the lift each morning due to the unfortunate lack of snow lower on the slopes but there was great snow higher up the mountains and it was great to be able to relax at the chalet as well as enjoy great food in a homely chalet amongst friends.
A fantastic stay.
The food was excellent and varied, some mountain favourites and some great alternative dishes. Rooms were very spacious, comfortable and had plenty of facilities. The staff were really helpful and friendly.
Lee and Kevin were fantastic hosts and helped us to experience the real mountain lifestyle in a wonderful charming village very different to the more commercial resorts nearby.
There's still plenty of places to eat and drink on the doorstep and a nice spa 5 mins walk away.
Can't wait to go back!
I booked the chalet to accommodate nine friends to have a really fun but relaxing weeks skiing. Right from the start Lee and Kevin were brilliant at accommodating us with different arrival days and needs. Before we arrived they were full of ideas and suggestions of activities to make our trip even more memorable.
It was unfortunate that the snow cover was limited at low altitudes but we were taken to the lift every day and the skiing was fantastic higher up. It was always a risk going early in the season but we chose the chalet because we knew we could access high snow.
Back in the chalet the food and service was superb. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, not that we spent much time in them testament to Lee's activities and hospitality.
Montchavin is a charming little village with plenty to do. Thank you for a wonderful stay and I look forward to returning.
We arrived as a group of 10 people arriving at different times making it very awkward for the chalet hosts, however Lee and Kevin just took it all in their stride. The snow conditions in the whole Alps were awful even for early season, but with access to Paradiski area that included Les Arc and La Plagne the wide range of lifts including the Vanoise Express got us high up the mountain quickly where the snow was faultless for most of the stay allowing us a week of good skiing on a whole range of different slopes!
However the main praise goes to Kevin and Lee the wonderful chalet hosts and Jon and Tamir who looked after us cooking all sorts of amazing foods and managing faultlessly to keep a group of athletes and fat lads full for all the trip. The food ranged from local raclette to Hungarian goulash.
We were made to feel part of the family from day one with introduction to their two kids and amazing dog Deano who often accompanied us on walks around the local area. They were always around whenever anything was needed and often accompanied us for the evening meal.
The facilities of the chalet could also not be faulted! All the rooms were huge with space for whole families if needed as well as the sauna and Jacuzzi that just couldn't be missed after a long day on the slopes.
All in all the whole group had a magnificent stay in a wonderful chalet made even more memorable but Kevin and Lee, if I was passing through the area I would not hesitate to call in for a chat and I would love to come and stay again>
Thank you very much Lee and Kevin for our stay!
Chalet de la Vanoise is a lovely, homely chalet with lots of facilities and spacious suites, some of which have super views. Easy access to the whole of the Paradiski area from a small, pretty village. Owner run, and it shows. Very helpful and friendly before and during the holiday.
The food was outstanding and dinner was a highlight with an excellent atmosphere around the table with the other guests.
