Fantastic apartment with stunning views over the village, small beach and out to sea. The balcony catches the sun nearly all day long and provides protection from the wind so you can really enjoy the space and the views. Silvia and her family were really helpful before our arrival and after and even booked us a taxi for our return to the airport as we couldn't face the 20mins uphill walk (or the near 100 steps next to the apartment building if you want to take the 'shortcut' up) to the bus stop with our bags in the heat.
The apartment serves all your basic needs and is comfortable. A DVD player would be helpful however it does have a smart TV so you can find plenty to watch on youtube as well as Spanish TV channels.
We only used one of the bedrooms as there were only two of us. The bed was very large (two put together) and comfortable and the room had fitted wardrobes for clothing. The blackout curtains in the bedroom have suffered at the bottom so let in some light in the morning.
Bus route 111 serves the motorway close to the village and the bus is every 30mins if on time. It can take you to Santa Cruz in the north and Los Cristianos in the south. As there isn't much to see, do or eat in El Poris except local strolls, a car is recommended to explore further afield. The 2 local supermarkets can cater for most needs.
There is solar powered and electric boiler powered hot water so in an ideal world there shouldn't be any issues but clearly something was wrong during our stay. You can swap the system from solar to boiler or vice versa if one isn't working but you need to be at least 5ft 8" tall and get up on a chair to reach above the fridge with a spanner to turn a valve which doesn't have any markings on it so you're unsure what system it is on.
We had a hot water problem all week and ended up boiling water for morning and evening use including bathing and washing dishes (and it was set to electric boiler by the plumbers). Silvia did send plumbers twice and her daughter and son-in-law visited once too but it was only after the third visit did we realise that the hot water worked in the afternoon when they came but not morning or evenings when we needed it most. This did cause us a lot of inconvenience (and there were only 2 of us) as we then realised that the sink plug in the bathroom sink was too small so it wouldn't hold hot water for very long. The sink in the shower room didn't have a plug at all or shower mat so slippery floor if used.
The main light in the bathroom wasn't working so it was dark in there but the shower room didn't have space to place a pan of water or kettle etc. so we had to use the bathroom and a bucket to mix hot boiled water with cold tap water.
Other things which would improve a stay at this apartment would be the provision of a bin with a lid in the kitchen as an open one attracts a lot of insects; a small dish rack if you're not using the dishwasher; toilet roll and bin bags to use for the first few days at least.
Overall, if the hot water issue is resolved this is a fantastic place to stay and very helpful and kind hosts.
After having a very disappointing apt. In candelarie . Scruffy, no way of boiling water etc. except a pan. Bed linen scruffy Rusty balcony and dirty furnisher,I could go on. This was heaven, two lovely owners met us and explained things. Nice area quiet but classic. A KETTLE and all other appliances . Spotlessly clean . We are having a super time and hope to come back again and again.
Two things the owner forgot to tell us. Where to empty rubbish and to turn the thermostat up for showers.
