“Would have been lovely except for noise!”

We went to the gardens at How Hill in the evening to see the azaleas etc but our visit was ruined by the awful noise from children staying at the house. They screamed and shouted for the 2 hours we were there - apparently they attend residential courses and get let out after classes. There didn't seem to be any adult supervision and the noise of 30 or so kids was truly horrendous. Really disappointed, would have been lovely to enjoy in the peace and quiet we thought the area would offer.

Slightly off the beaten track, but well worth the detour. A variety of different walks, through the gardens, along the river or through the nature reserve as well as a lovely mini museum/marsh-mans cottage. There was also a Norfolk Wherry moored on the river and available to view on the day we visited.

This place has a bit for everyone, gardens, tea rooms, river walks, nature reserve (only bit that's not free) and historical buildings and boats. Main garden was also open when we visited and more than happy to make a donation to this well kept gem. Nature reserve was full of wild flowers, dragonflies and the magnificent Swallowtail butterfly.

Lovely day out when in the area, some lovely gardens, beautiful flowers & plants. Only a short visit, would maybe go back when I have more time.
