“Blissful Tranquillity in the Gironde.....”
Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Les Cypres is an immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped authentic French gite nestled among fields of vineyards and sunflowers. It's location ensures complete relaxation and tranquillity and an opportunity to admire the beautiful surrounding French countryside from every viewpoint. The surrounding gardens, punctuated by a variety of fruit trees, are beautifully maintained and provide more than enough space for a variety of amateur, yet competitive! sports including table tennis. The refreshing salt water pool is a very good size, is cleaned daily and has both a shallow and deep end for cooling plunges. The surrounding countryside is lovely and the area has many medieval towns and villages to explore, of which, many hold colourful and entertaining day/night markets. Some of our favourite visits included Duras, Issigeac, St Emilion, St Foy La Grande, Bergerac and further afield Tremolat and Limeuil (Limeuil had a picturesque river beach and from here you could kayak along either the Dordogne or the Vezere rivers) We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Monsegur night market and thank Pippa and Philippe for their recommendation. A visit to Bordeaux is a must, old Bordeaux is lovely and easily accessible due to it's great tram system and park and ride scheme.
We would like to thank our welcoming hosts Pippa and Philippe who were extremely helpful and informative, yet politely discreet, for their kind hospitality and for a relaxing and memorable holiday. One which we have all agreed was one of our best! Thank you x

“Beautiful stay with excellent amenities in gorgeous French countryside...a dream!”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Myself, my husband and our two young daughters (aged 7 and 5) stayed with at this gorgeous gite for 1 week at the end of July. It was all we expected and more. Clean, beautifully maintained, amazing location surrounded by vineyards. The girls loved the pool and having freedom to run all around the big yard (including bocce to play and ping pong to play), while we loved the quiet and beauty of the surroundings. But it was close to many gorgeous, old French towns that were easy to drive to, where you could tour cobbled streets and shop at the morning and night markets. The gite owners were great at suggesting where and when to go to the towns (including setting up a local wine tasting for us), and also had a very nice welcome drink and h'or derives with us one evening. The gite is equipped with everything you need - I enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen for making my own soups and pasta dinners. We would highly recommend staying here, and we do hope to come back ourselves one day! Still so many other towns to see nearby, and having more time to relax in the yard would be wonderful!

“Delightful gite in a lovely rural area – we had a great holiday”
Reviewed 9 January 2015 for a stay in September 2014

The spotlessly clean gite has a real French feel; it is spacious & equipped to a very high standard. There are lovely views from both the gite & its beautifully maintained garden. Swimming in the salt pool, & then not needing to wash chlorine out of costumes was a real luxury. The owners are very knowledgeable, friendly & gave us lots of information, including the best local markets to visit.
The owners speak excellent English

“Idyllic rural retreat”
Reviewed 21 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

A beautiful tranquil gite in a wonderful area of France. Very well appointed and comfortable, and the English/English speaking owners go out of their way to be welcoming. Lots to see and do in the area - evening market at Monsegur particularly recommended.

“Tranquil and Beautiful”
Reviewed 23 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This was our second stay, and we enjoyed it as much as we did the first. The gite is spotless and tasteful, the garden is beautiful and the views of the vineyards all around are stunning. The swimming pool is fantastic, cleaned every day and our children love it. The owners of the property, Philippe and Pippa are lovely, welcoming hosts. Both our holidays have been special and memorable. The market at St Foy la Grande was an amazing market to visit. We would recommend this holiday without any hesitation.
