“Spacious, comfortable accommodations for our family of six in a beautiful area.”

We booked the Middleton because we were looking for a self-service cottage with space for our family of 6 that would be well located. The place is more than large enough for with three large en-suite bedrooms, a full-size kitchen, large and well appointed living room, separate dining area and a porch. The surrounding area is full of stunning scenery. Our initial plan was to use the lodge as a base and to spend most of our time in the Brecon Beacons National Park but we quickly discovered that the area around the lodge has incredible biking and walking trails. In particular. the Elan Valley is an area of pristine, outstanding scenery.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are glad you liked the Middleton and enjoyed your stay in this part of Wales. We sometimes feel somewhat in the shadow of the Brecon Beacons with its National Park status but the Élan Valley and the Cambrian mountains are at least as beautiful. Thank you again for your very positive review.

“Fabulous Spacious Accommodation - certainly worth a visit”
Reviewed 26 December 2012 for a stay in December 2012

My daughters and I recently stayed at the Middleton. Beautifully apportioned accommodation - three bedrooms each with their own bathroom. Abundance of hot water and accommodation was warm and cozy. We even had a decorated Christmas tree - a wonderful touch for the season. We visited from the US - these rooms are definitely bigger than the general accommmodations available in the UK and would greatly appeal to the US market. Very large living space and fully equipped kitchen. Owners very solicitious and kind. Defintiely a first class place to stay.

“Girls' Break”
Reviewed 2 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Stayed here in early September along with two girl-friends. What can I say, a bedroom & bathroom each, no queues in the morning for showers etc. The property is extreemly spacious and has everything you could wish for to guarantee a relaxing break.
All the facilties are first class with the added convenience of a shop, forecourt and cafe adjacent to the property - complete with garden areas to enjoy the sunshine in. We all agreed that we couldn't have had a more relaxing holiday anywhere. This venue is wonderful to use as a base for exploring Mid-Wales - the lakes are spectacular, as was the visit to Gigrin Farm to watch the Red Kites feeding. Also a trip to the Wesh Crystal factory shop is recommended. We will definately be returning next year.

“A very spacious and well decorated property with an excellent range of facilities.”
Reviewed 30 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

The Middleton is plenty big enough for six and one of the bedrooms has a double bed and a single so there is enough room for seven to sleep. The accomodation is to a high standard and the facilities are very good - everything you could want in the kitchen, a large TV in the lounge plus Wi-fi availabilityThere is direct access to walks along the fast flowing Wye and the Elan valley is only about 5 miles awaty. A visit to the Red Kite feeding is also a must. Rhayader has a large number of Pubs and tea shops so you can always find somewhere to eat.
Adjacent to the property ( but far enough away so as not to cause any problems )is a shop ( which stocks pretty well everything) and also a cafe appears to be very popular. There is also a petrol station if you are running low!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review the Middleton cottage and for giving such positive feedback. We really are fortunate to have direct access to the riverside and its lovely walk. We are pleased you found the facilities of a high standard and valued the benefit of having a shop and cafe nearby. Perhaps we may see you again some time in the future.
