Located in a high cost enclave in a poor country, with the usual high fences, locked gates and vicious dogs. Once you get past the atrocious approach road the cottage is placed on a hillside with panoramic views. Luckily there is a private plunge pool because the local beaches are rubbish. Cotton Bay is windy and filthy, frequented by horse riders making it unsuitable for sitting on but ideal for wind surfers, Pigeon Point beach is 100 yards of sand lined with beach chairs one foot apart, for rent at EC$15 each.
Inside the cottage the bedroom has a king size bed, very comfortable, and air conditioning. The bathroom is OK and the shower is huge. The kitchen is nothing much, too small and old fashioned. The deck is a good place to eat outside and the constant wind keeps most of the insects away.
The security guard was helpful.
