Duck's Harbour is truly in a beautiful setting. We (husband & 3 kids) visited at Easter. The weather was good so we took full advantage of the dingy and went out on the river each day. We had not expected or planned to do this so the supply of life jackets for all was an added bonus! It really is such a convenient but yet very tranquil location (even the kids 7, 8 & 10) enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. The birds and wildlife were aplenty. The house was very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with equipment and ample room for us all! Finally, the local village provides most things a family requires on holiday and as we have family nearby we definitely plan to return in the future.

Lovely area and lodge everything you could possibly need great to have use of boats and canoe. Owners friendly and respond time good . caretaker helpful and friendly couldn't hope for more hope to our again next year
Me husband and I chose to stay here for a weeks honeymoon based on it being a central stopping point on our journey from where we married to where we live, and as I'm heavily pregnant convenience was important. We were not disappointed.
The marina itself is a stunning location, it is a gated community which had fob only entry on evenings and weekends. This is something to consider if you arrive on a weekend as you will need to contact the owner before you can gain access to the site.
The lodge was positioned backing onto the river, which is great for seeing wildlife and people going pasts on boats and canoes. There is a small metal staircase up to the door, and the entry is a conservatory style room with a table and chairs. We enjoyed eating breakfast in here and as the weather was so nice the room was warm and had a great view.
The lodge itself was very cosy, which was just what I needed at this time. The decor isn't posh but there are lots of extras that more than make up for this, such as an extensive dvd collection, High spec TV and DVD players in all rooms, a dishwasher and all the kitchen equipment you could require. The beds were comfy and we slept well in the lodge. We had our dog stay with us which we had to pay a damage deposit for, though this is usual with most holiday lets. The dog was at home here and loved walking by the river and watching the ducks from the balcony.
Communication from the owner was great and there was information in the cottage so there wouldn't be anything you didn't know how to use.
Have already recommended this holiday rental to friends and family as we really did have a wonderful stay. The location was great for being a short drive to lots of different towns and restaurants.
