“Wonderful experience, don't overlook this one!”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Starting from the start, we booked this villa some time in November 2015 for July 2016. Right from the off, the owner, Cihan Dimir was really on the case with some great advice and help organising our holiday so that everything went smoothly. Even down to liaising with the local car hire company for us and arranging the airport transfers.

The transfer by the way was equally good with a very posh Mercedes Vito with leather seats and air-conditioning. We were made to feel very important.

The villa was beautiful, in an idyllic location in the hills overlooking Kalkan, the seaside resort at the bottom of the valley. Only built a couple of years ago to a high standard from all natural wood and marble, the villa has a ground floor and upper floor, both overlooking a spacious wooden patio, overlooking the pool, overlooking the valley, Kalkan and the sea view. There is one spacious double bedroom, a spacious twin bedroom, both with sheltered balconies and full height doors opening into them and a smaller ground floor double guest bedroom. The villa is well appointed with a comprehensive kitchen, dishwasher, clothes washer, and satellite TV and Internet with WiFi. There is a dedicated driveway for the villa with parking, and further parking in a dedicated car park very close within the property boundary.

Two people from the local community are on hand to clean the villa and service the swimming pool, and one morning we found some very tasty locally grown vegetables and eggs on our doorstep left by the gardener.

I could go on about the villa all day, but further afield, approximately 100 yards away at the end of the drive is the first restaurant Asmaalti, recently taken over, and which serves a good selection of very tasty traditional Turkish and English food.

There are a selection of shops and supermarkets within a few hundred yards of the villa, and more larger shops 10 minutes away by car in Kalkan, which also has an excellent street market every Thursday.

There are several really excellent beaches, including Kaputas beach famous for its turquoise sea, Patara beach (18km long white sandy beach) and some fascinating Acient city ruins dotted around the area well worth a look.

Along the coast to the East is Kas, where we went on an excellent scuba trip with Nautilus Dive Centre.

Saklikent gorge is within 30 minutes to the West and is a very large water adventure centre offering all sorts of water based activities.

If you want a rest you will not need to leave the Villa which I could have spent the entire 2 weeks enjoying. If you want some excitement or activity there's too much to do in two weeks.

I fail to see how anyone would not fall in love with this location for a holiday - it has it all.

“A wonderful holiday”
Reviewed 31 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

A lovely house in a beautiful setting in the most scenic part of Turkey, with views to the sea. Plenty of good, and very cheap, restaurants in walking distance - but bring a torch. Everyone was very friendly and Cihan and his wife were excellent hosts with lovely touches such as fresh tangerines picked from their trees and traditional Turkish puddings. Lots to see in the area with many archaeological sites in excellent condition and some beautiful sandy beaches within 20 minutes drive. Highly recommended.

“Beautiful villa in idyllic location”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My husband and I have been visiting Kalkan for 25 years both before and with our children. We decided this year to stay outside the town for the first time and were really delighted with both Islamlar and our choice of villa. Villa Sedir is wonderfully situated in the hills which means you can enjoy both the sunshine during the day and the cooler air in the evening. Mountain and sea views are excellent. The large pool and garden are well maintained daily and the villa itself is clean and beautifully equipped. It certainly lived up to our expectations! The wi-fi was a big bonus - especially for my teenage son - and the DVD player was also well used. The BBQ area Is also a plus. I would recommend hiring a car particularly with a family as taxis into Kalkan can be quite pricey. There are a couple of small shops located 15 mins or so up the hill in the village selling milk, bread, water etc and several restaurants in the vicinity with Chops (again up the hill) being our favourite. We undertook a couple of excursions to our well loved haunts - a boat trip over the sunken city of Kekova and a tour of the Roman and Byzantine ruins at Tlos. My husband and son also enjoyed several scuba diving trips with the Kalkan Dive Centre, another place we return to year on year whilst my daughter and I made the most of the facilities at the next door Kalamar Beach Club. Cihan, the villa's owner, was an excellent host, meeting us in Kalkan from the airport late at night and guiding us to the villa (which we would never have found without him!). He came round to see us during our stay - bringing some delicious locally made pancakes with him - and stayed in contact with us throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We would highly recommend Villa Sedir and are missing it already... Thanks for a great stay Cihan!

“Peaceful location, great host”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We chose Villa Sedir primarily due to its location; out in the country rather than amongst the ‘hustle and bustle’ of Kalkan. Turned out to be just what we were after, a nice peaceful rural setting, and had the unrealised benefit of a bit of breeze up the hillside making it a few of degrees cooler than central Kalkan (which was noticeably hotter and more uncomfortably humid when we ventured into town). Great outlook, overlooking the hillside down to Kalkan and the sea in the distance, and fairly convenient for local shops and restaurants (a choice of good restaurants within easy walking distance, shops also not far away but as the villa is on a pretty steep hillside it made for a bit of useful exercise fetching the daily bread!)

Cihan, the owner, was always extremely helpful and accommodating, permanently available for anything we needed (contactable using the villa’s WiFi, so not even any nasty mobile bills! Nothing was too much trouble and with the benefit of local knowledge ‘on tap’ made life very easy for us

The house itself is great; very new (I think Cihan said 2014 was his first year) so very well fitted and appointed and exceptionally clean and tidy, and the pool was cleaned every morning before we were out of bed. Very roomy accommodation, air conditioned throughout, comfy beds, quality sun loungers (with cushions, always a bonus!), decent parasols for times when a bit of shade is needed. Not much more we could ask for?!

“Villa Sedir - the best place in Turkey!”
Reviewed 27 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This year (2015) my family and I spent the best vacation in Turkey which we ever had! And the reasons for that are the following:
1. Villa Sedir itself! Greatly equiped with all slightly necessary details, which help you to feel like at home from the very first second of your stay, and elegantly decorated! We especially enjoyed bed linens and sunbeds with traditional turkish beach towels:)
2. Villa`s location - right in the middle of perfection!:) Between the peaceful village of Islamlar and full of life Kalkan. Every day we had variety of choices - to stay at home and enjoy the sounds of mountains nature, swimming pool and sun; to visit hystorical Lycian places in Islamlar and explore it`s wonderful home style restaurants with fresh trout and lamb; or to go downhill and feel the vibes of elegant Kalkan with great beach clubs.
3. Fresh air!!! It`s absolutely healing! Once you breathe it in - no need for extra medicines or doctors anymore! All of us slept like babies!
4. Wonderful food! You can make you choice - to cook at wonderful kitchen of Villa Sedir or to eat in numerous cafes, bistros or restaurants of Islamlar and Kalkan. Especially we enjoyed the process of buying food at the local market on the way from Islamlar to Kalkan which takes place every Sunday!
5. Gorgeous staff! Of course, all that will not work without Cihan - the owner of the Villa Sedir. He was our #1 man!:) He will answer any question you have and will be on-line 7-24. Besides that, he is smart, good looking:) and has a great wife and son with an angel face! Also, he has assistants - Mehmet (the pool and garden master) and Latife (the lady, who helps to keep the house clean). All of them do a perfectly good job!
6. WiFi service - 10 of 10 points! It was extremely important for my husband!
7. People - you will love the locals. They are friendly and always ready to help! many times they helped me and my family to solve many tasks and did it with open heart.
RESUME - we love Villa Sedir, we love Turkey, we love Cihan and his family! And for sure we`ll come back again ASAP!!!
