“A little bit of paradise”
Reviewed 23 August 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I don’t often take the time to write a review on Trip Advisor but on this occasion, the wonderful memories afforded by our stay at Villa Lavender, left me with little or no choice in the matter.
Six of us made the journey to take up residence at the Villa and after a delayed flight we arrived rather travel weary. However, all thoughts of fatigue disappear as soon as the key opens the door of what, from the outside, appears to be a rather up market bungalow.
In front of you, Marble floors and two-storey windows boasting views of the plains of Patara and Patara Beach in the distance take the breath away and give both the property and that first moment, the elusive ‘wow’ factor that stays in the memory long after the holiday is over.
The property is arranged over three floors and is extremely well appointed with top notch fixtures and fittings but it also feels comfortable and homely, inviting you to while away the time chatting, reading, eating, swimming, dozing and just, well, chilling out really.
After a while and with only a slight suspension of disbelief, it’s not that difficult to imagine that this really is ‘your’ Villa, a feeling that makes it that much harder to leave when the holiday is finally over.
The website and other reviews can tell you (and rightly so) about the great mountain restaurants to visit nearby, the classy cafes and bijou shops in Kalkan and Kas, the excellent beach at Patara and the welcoming, friendly and helpful Turkish people themselves.
For myself, the abiding memory is of my regular visit to the Turkish barber down in the town.
Where else can you get an expert shave with a cutthroat razor, face moisturised and lotioned, ears/nose and eyebrows trimmed with (amongst other implements) a flaming swizzle stick , a head, shoulder, arm and finger massage and a free (non alcoholic) beverage of your choice; all for the princely sum of £3.00!
For that experience alone, I’d make a point of coming back!
At the end of the day, a great holiday is a shared holiday and this Villa, in this place, gave us a holiday experience that we’ll talk about for years to come. I have no hesitation in giving it my heartiest recommendation.

“Everything you could possibly want from a holiday, and more.”
Reviewed 30 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We had a truly wonderful holiday staying in Villa Lavender, high up in the mountains above Kalkan town, with stunning views over the hills below and towards Patara Beach. The villa is situated in a quiet location approximately 20 minutes by car from Kalkan.

The accommodation is perfect and luxurious in every way, from the comfortable bedrooms and spacious en suites - fitted to the highest standards - to the extensively and thoughtfully equipped and furnished living space comprising open plan kitchen, dining and relaxation. A huge window on this living area floor provides a beautiful vista of the countryside below the villa. The pool deck is extremely well equipped with sun loungers, tables and chairs, all set around a generously sized swimming pool. Around the pool deck is an attractively stocked and well maintained garden, with rosemary, lavender and rose bushes, and bougainvillea climbing the villa walls.

The villa staff were very attentive and were on hand night and day to assist us, whether to bring us bread in the morning, take our rubbish away or make dinner reservations at any of the many restaurants in the surrounding hills and in Kalkan itself.

Kalkan is a small town with charming qualities, a beautiful harbour and very friendly and helpful locals.

We found our Utopia here...and we can't wait to return.

“Fantastic villa”
Reviewed 16 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Stayed at this villa in June, and was way more than we could have envisage. The villa is amazing, views fantastic. Lovely and quiet. A short drive to kalkan which we fell in love with, lovely restaurants and lovely people. Great shopping too. A must is to try the mountain restaurants near by, good food and again lovely people . Going again next year but this time we will be bringing the children.

“Stunning Villa and location”
Reviewed 27 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Even though we arrived late at night Ahmet was there to welcome us and show us round. It was only then in the morning we first saw the stunning views from the location this villa is set in. The property itself has the wow factor, I have stayed in a few villas over the years but nothing compare to this. It is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. You could easily stay there with friends and not feel on top of each other. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.

Ahmet and Devrim are very helpful and respond quickly to any requests and both speak good English. The villas is in a nice peaceful location and can't help but make you relax. When you drive through the local villages on your way to the villa you get to see the real Turkey, but are only a matter of minutes from the centre of Kalkan and Patara beach.

Kalkan itself has lots of great restaurants and shops. there are also some great restaurants closer to the villa, especially at the trout farms in Islamlar which is only 2 minutes drive.

I would also recommend booking a private boat trip, which Dervim can arrange for you.

A great holiday and would love to stay there again!
