Food is lovely and the drink is kept perfectly. Always feel welcome and the craic flows as well as the beer with anyone who walks through the door. Great pub with lots of history and well worth a visit.

We stay in Allonby every year and would recommend The Ship Hotel.
It's a bit rough round the edges and the decor is unusual to say the least.
But the staff are friendly, the beer is cheap and the food is good pub grub.

Only had one meal but it was lovely home made food with very friendly attentive landlord. The Cumberland sausage was tasty and filling but could not stop pinching the chips which were fabulous you must try

Pub is my local
Try the local "Yates" beer plus always has an extra yates special.
dogs are welcome
locals are friendly
had some great nights in Halloween is always good for a laugh if ya not dressed up then you will be out of place

Good steaks and usually have some specials on the board.
Opening times have changed in the last couple of months, the main difference being in the week it opens at 5pm instead of being open at lunchtime.

Great hosts & staff
will defo be back

Room Tip: I only use the bar area, opening times change in the winter
