“Tranquil haven in central Brittany”

The Courtyard cottage was perfect for our stay in Brittany. The cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean and strikes a great balance between traditional/rustic Breton style and modern comfort. In comparison to other places we looked at it's also great value for money.

Location-wise because it's central it's easy to drive to all sides and sites of Brittany, and the little towns that surround Seglien are all packed with charm. It was wonderfully quiet without being remote. The only downside for us was that the local shop had recently closed - not sure if it was just for a refit or permanent - so we had to drive 10 mins for our morning baguette to Guemene-sur-scorff (a great little town).

I would definitely recommend this place for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Liked best: Peaceful and comfortable
Liked least: The wifi point is in a room next door - it works fine but you can't lounge on the sofa and use it

A lovely cottage situated in the centre of Brittany. Easy access by car to the whole region. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen area and a spectacular two person bath! Ideal for a quiet country break.

We spent a week at courtyard cottage and found it to be a wonderful base to explore the surrounding area. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Communication from the owners was excellent. If you want a relaxing peaceful escape, it is ideal.

“Tranquil perfection”

We were fortunate in our timing, visiting during a heat wave. Nonetheless the star of our week long stay here was the cottage itself, situated on the outskirts of a sleepy hilltop hamlet.

As a cottage cum barnyard-conversion it perfectly balances modern appliances and features with rustic and romantic traditionalism. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped; the former featuring a contemporary cubical shower and a showpiece free standing bath in the bedroom whilst the latter has all the necessities for adventurous self-catering.

It is best suited to those seeking peace, tranquillity and rural beauty, although it is also suited to those who wish to explore this relatively un-trodden corner of France. Clearly the owners have invested money, time and passion in the cottage and it has paid dividends by providing an easy-to-use and characterful rural escape.

The owners themselves are friendly and accommodating, doing their utmost to provide for guests needs. Overall we would love to visit again having developed a fondness both for the cottage and the surrounding area.
