What a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, and oh so peaceful holiday cottage. Nice welcome food on the table for our arrival, plus enough material to get us started with a fire. Plenty more available from the owners.
Dogs made comfortable, and plenty of walks straight out of the door - so suited us very well.
And having stayed in a good few holiday cottages over the years, couldn't get over how comfy the beds were!
We'd thoroughly recommend this cottage for anyone who needs to unwind and de-stress from hectic life.

Liked best: The peace and quiet, and the beds!
Liked least: the darkness of the kitchen - but what do you expect from a 17th century cottage?!

“A good base in a lovely village in the Peak District”
Reviewed 16 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

A very nice cottage in the lovely village of Eyam. A lot of thoughtful touches - a dog bowl, fires prepared, some bread and eggs to welcome us, got us off to a good start. More firewood was available. There were Ordnance Survey maps and lots of information about the area, too. The only niggle is that the beds could have been a mite more comfortable. Otherwise, a brilliant experience.

Thanks for the nice review. Sorry about the beds! It's a hard one as some people think they are really comfortable. I might go and have a night in them to check they haven t got saggy!

Best wishes, Jo

“Cosy Perfection”
Reviewed 30 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

What a delightful cottage We had a fab time staying at East View for 8 nights while visiting the Peak District. The two open fires are a plus and were laid and ready to light on our arrival. The well stocked (utensils, pots etc) kitchen if you like to cook is also a plus. A fresh loaf of bread and 6 eggs left on the kitchen table was a thoughtful gesture and both were tasty. The house is well heated, the wifi good for the area and the internet TV a plus when staying 8 nights - a few movie afternoons on wet and windy days were enjoyed. The bedding/linen is cotton and down as suggested on the website - a big plus for us. Generous size bedrooms and bathroom make for a comfortable stay in the upstairs of the cottage. Jo has a relaxed manner and is a great host with a keen eye for understanding her guests and their needs. Eyam is also a pretty village and a perfect location to use as a base in exploring the beautiful Peak District. I would most definitely choose to stay at East View again.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 8 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We had a fantastic three night stay in Eyam. Cottage was very good all round. Location was in the centre of the village. Joanna was very welcoming and helpful. Weather could have been better - but it is November in the peaks!
