We stayed in this hotel for a quiet weekend away and it was perfect for just that.
We arrived early around midday we knew we weren’t able to check in till 4pm so we wandered around, had a walk and sat by the broad. We went back to the car and the receptionist came out around 2 to tell us our room was ready! The rooms were very spacious, lovely big modern bathroom and very quiet. Everything was very clean and the bed was huge and very comfortable! There’s a restaurant next door which served food from 6pm and it was delicious better than we had thought it would be!
There wasn’t many people around it was a perfect peaceful getaway right on the broads!

Reading good reviews on tripadvisor we booked the Waveney Inn. The room is very clean and the bed very comfortable, shower and bathroom facilities are good, however the food was not good fatty fish and chips dripping in cooking oil residue. The so called ‘restaurant’ is not very welcoming and reminds me of a school canteen, also there is no where that is comfortable to sit after your meal unless you want to sit and watch television, also freezing cold and had to ask for the air conditioning to be turned off all guests where sitting in there coats and jumpers. Value for money it is not.

We were sorry to read your review Susan. I'm going to pass this through to our restaurant manager because this type of complaint about the food is very unusual. All food is freshly prepared to order and the oil is changed regularly. As to having somewhere else to sit, well we are only a small hotel with 7 rooms but we do have the bar and restaurant areas as well as your room with TV. Thanks for visiting anyway.

We enjoyed a week at this hotel. The staff were fantastic, couldn't do enough for us. We ate at the Waveney Inn restaurant every night and the food was lovely. Hired a day boat for a lovely potter along the river. We were a couple and enjoyed our stay - the centre is very family friendly and also very dog friendly. Within easy reach of the Broads, and local towns and villages by car.

We stayed at the Waveney hotel for a 2 night stay. The directions to the hotel were clear although was not expecting the single track road to be quite as far from the main road as it is but we didn’t experience any problems. We were checked in by friendly professional members of ‘the crew’ and shown to our room. The captains cabin. The room was bright, spacious and clean with a large bed that we later found to be one of the most comfortable beds we had slept in. The bathroom was large clean and modern and the shower was wonderful. I’m being picky here but my teaspoons were dirty and had not been changed and the silicone in the shower could do with being replaced as it was a bit grubby. Apart from that the room was fantastic.
We later went to the bar and had reasonably priced drinks and baguette and chips. Presentation was lovely, baguette fresh and staff friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed our evening.
Breakfast the next morning. Poor service as the young waitress was on her own and a large party of 10 were being served. If I hadn’t had gone to the bar to order coffee while we waited we may have still been there now. However she was polite and apologetic and a decent breakfast soon appeared. We had no problems the following morning. Although the night before while we sat having a drink the chef and bar staff were saying there was no white bread as not been ordered and sure enough... no white toast available that day.
We didn’t use the pool as it’s about 100 meters from the hotel and didn’t appear to have changing rooms in there (I could be wrong)as lots of adults and children walking around with towels around them going back to their accommodation.
We had a fantastic 2 night stay here and would definitely recommend it.
Thanks crew

Thanks for your lovely review - we're glad you enjoyed yourself. We've taken your comments on board about the minor niggles in the room, thank you for mentioning them. Regarding the pool - it does have 3 changing rooms but sometimes people choose to walk to & from their accommodation in their swimming gear. Thanks again, we hope to see you soon.

I booked this hotel before reading the reviews and had concerns about staying there. However we have had a lovely time. We had received a number of emails confirming our stay and giving directions which was down a narrow road. When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful, showing us to our room (Captains Cabin)The room was clean, with everything in working order. Tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of milk and coffee/tea. Large bathroom with an amazing shower. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. Good service from the staff. Breakfast was included and we had a walk round in the morning before leaving. Would definitely stay here again.
