“5* Luxury & Character”

Have just spent a lovely 4 days with family at the Station Masters' House and could not recommend more highly. 5* Comfort (including the beds) and all mod cons such as wifi, Freesat - and bonus, a working Piano (it had been about 20 years since I last played, but it soon all came flooding back)

The house has been sympathetically renovated to a high standard, but retains all of it's previous character from its' days as a working station, especially with the interior design which echo it's original use and which run thoughout. The House is large and airy (3 bathrooms/bedrooms, large kitchen and lounge, plus dining room and Loggia), with plenty of room and facilities for every one, so as not to fall out with each other!

One of us has limited mobility, so been on one level was a bonus.

Had a fantastic time and would recommend it everyone.

“5 star comfort”
Reviewed 9 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We booked this property as part of week long 90th birthday celebration for my mother in law. She had lived in Sanquhar for many years and this return trip allowed her to catch up with family and friends.
The house was an excellent base for our trip and was furnished ,decorated and equipped to a very high standard. The rooms are spacious and we all found the beds to be exceptionally comfortable. With 3 bathrooms the property can easily cope with a large party. There is little noise from passing trains , on the contrary they provide a point of interest.
There is lots to do in the area - Sanquhar itself is a lovely town in a lovely setting with lots of walks to enjoy. We had the main birthday meal in the Lochside Hotel , New Cummnock which is set on the side of a loch with lovely views, good service and good food.
