“A large and beautiful house in a beautiful location!”
Reviewed 20 December 2014 for a stay in June 2014

In the surfing world Teahupoo is known as the end of the road. The Green Room Villa is literally located at the end of the long Tahiti road on a large property. It is a large house with a view of the ocean and walking distance to the bridge. My daughter and I had a great time enjoying the hiking up the river. Walking to the point and snorkeling and taking Cindy's tour boat to the Grotto. It is a beautiful place and very serene and quiet at night. We had a memorable time.

“ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS FIND IN PARADISE”
Reviewed 26 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Where to begin...such a fabulous experience! Stayed in the house with a group of friends and enjoyed every minute of it! The house is quite large, comfortable, clean and on a large piece of property that is AMAZING. The backdrop of the villa is a mountain valley in this wonderfully local and quaint village...literally at the end of the road going around the island. There are healthy fruit trees which we plucked from often to make our cocktails :). The full kitchen was fantastic for cooking and was stocked with the essentials. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. We swam in the river and the shore break of Teahupoo- truly felt like we were on the edge of the earth. The lanai was the best part- it wraps around the house and easily fit the five of us whether we were doing pilates, yoga, having cocktail hour, or just resting in the hammock. My only complaint would be the heat and the mosquitoes, but we are in the South Pacific after all! Josh was more than accommodating for our group and made sure we knew everything we needed to know before we got there. This location is perfect for families, groups or honeymooners. Highly recommend and will be back!

“Beautiful Unique Home”

My husband and I wanted a special place to stay that would be more local and unique than the over-water bungalow places in all the pictures. This is not a resort experience, it's a beautiful home in the middle of an out-of -the-way natural area and people should know this before booking. Other reviewers mentioned bugs but we hardly had an mosquitoes when we were there and actually found them worse on Moorea. Exploring the town, getting our own groceries, buying local fresh fish, and eating on the expansive deck were wonderful. I loved the open concept, and tree in the middle of the house! This is a truly lovely place and we had a real getaway here. We hope to be able to come back with the kids in the future, they would love it. However, if you want your bed turned down, white tablecloths and a mango mint on your pillow then this might not be a good fit for you.

“Don't stay here.”

The house was very difficult to reach. The paved road ended and we passed a sign saying, "No hired cars beyond this point." The dirt road had huge holes! The house itself was FULL of mosquitos. There is no ceiling over the central room, so you can't keep them out. If you set any food out on the kitchen counter, it was immediately covered with ants.
It had rained and the beds were wet to the touch. The mattresses were so bad, you could feel the springs with your hand.
I would not recommend this house to anyone!

Management Response
22 Oct 2014
Very sorry to read this review. The guest arrived during an extremely wet period so the humidity was through the roof. For those unfamiliar with the tropics, this can admittedly be a shock. Nothing was "wet" however, just very humid.

The dirt road that goes up the river towards the house IS full of pot-holes without a doubt. The people who live on that stretch have children who play outside and are perfectly happy to have cars drive slowly past their houses. We always ask visitors to be respectful of this and to keep it to a snail's pace.

The "central room" is an open air courtyard with a tree growing through the middle. This feature is one of the most interesting (and usually appreciated) design aspects of our tropical home.

We don't have aircon and are clear about that in our description of our house. This guest left the house after deciding that the humidity was too high for them. They didn't let us or the manager (who is just next door and very available) know they had left and after leaving demanded reimbursement. The time slot they had asked for was at the peak of high season. We offered to compensate the guest with free stay for a future trip which they refused.
