By luck, the garden was open for the week we were here, for Easter, and it really is a beautiful, peaceful place. We were given a handful of freshly picked strawberries by the gardener, which were delicious! Easy to spend hours just sitting and thinking, or marvelling at the people who created it

Spend some time in the garden considered to be second only to the Alhambra Generalife. Experience the peace and quiet, the history and the beauty. Learn how the Moors lived and used their garden to appeal to the five senses .

The visit to the Garden Nazari is a real pleasure. It is an exquisite medieval garden, very similar to Generalife but still not well known.
If traveling through the province, do not hesitate to discover this undiscovered gem.
It is a very relaxing, interesting and a place to discover a garden style practically unheard of in the world ride.

We visited these gardens in August 2015. Velez de Benaudalla is nice Andalucian village with the usuall bars, churches, squares, market. These Nazari gardens, however, located at the lower side of the village towards the river, are something special. There are parts with typical plants from the area, some nice ornaments but really exceptional are the vertical gardens and small caves. The water that drips along a cliff supports a wide range of plants. Even in August the place was very quiet and we hope it will remain like that.
