Loved the little trains one which goes round up to pleasure land (deserted ) and the pier one which was fun played some of the old penny machines costs a pound for 10 pennies but a bit of fun got train back to carousel then walked but it was scorching hot but plenty of ice cream shops

Always lovely to walk to the and see if we can spot the sea. So happy that there is on going maintenance and restoration of the pier so that it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations

We rode out to the end of the pier on the little train and walked back. We didnt actually see the sea as the tide was right out. We did see it in the distance. You can also see Blackpool up the coast.
At the end of the peir is a penny arcade which uses Pre decimalisation Pennies. You swap your money for them. It was interesting for the children.
Its good to stretch the legs and burn a few calories.

We visited Southport pier on a scorcher of a day. The pier is quite long and has a train for those who prefer to be transported. Lots of other tourists on the day we visited. It’s elevated position affords a good view of the surrounding area. The sea is a long way out!
