Description: The Thatched Inn is a traditional English pub dating back to the 17th Century. We are a small pub with a simple no frills traditional British menu. Dogs are welcome in the beer garden but not inside.

My wife and me went down for a beer whilst the grandparents looked after our son. We'd seen the pub and looked forward to going. Until we got into the pub. The bar was lined with people and no one showed any sign of moving, we managed to slip in at the end of the bar. Staff were unhelpful with regards to the ales. The seating area outside is like sitting in a housing estate. Disappointed.

Had a brilliant evening here on the Gypsy Terrace for a birthday party. Lovely outdoor area where we could all relax together and have amazing food and drink. A speaker to play your own music and pretty fairy lights really add to the atmosphere.

Whilst spending a week in Ilfracombe recently we had Sunday lunch at the Thatch Inn which is found on Hillsborough Road easily found close to the harbour in the town. A freindly atmosphere greeted us in this public house established back in 1645 .We both ordered the Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding, the roast potatoes were to die for. A further side dish followed with a selection of four vegetables including red cabbage, carrots and leeks in a cream sauce and green cabbage all nicely cooked.

Good portions but a slightly limited menu. All freshly cooked and very tasty.
The young lady behind the bar was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Only downside was the limited parking.
