Absolutely fantastic food, great service and a warm and friendly welcome. A memorable dinner! The potted crab was the highlight of the night and despite pressure no details of the recipe was shared which is a real shame. Go there and enjoy a great night out.

We visited this fish restaurant for a birthday treat whilst on holiday in Ilfracombe. We booked for early evening (and I'd recommend booking as it's very popular!), and were pleased to find that this lovely restaurant does not hurry early diners to make room for later bookings, the table is yours for the evening! The fish is fresh and the specials and menu can vary each day depending on what they can source. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. I had a smashing birthday dinner. Wish we were on holiday for longer and could have gone back again! Excellent!

The rather unassuming exterior belies the warm and friendly atmosphere of this bijou restaurant.
Many many types of fresh fish are delivered daily and given the Thyme creative magic by the owner and his wife.
It has a loyal following amongst locals and it is likely that out of town visitors always enjoy a delicious and rewarding experience

Its a small restaurant and will only sit about 22 people. The welcome was lovely, The staff are very friendly. Service was very good. The food is excellent and not a bad price. The second time we went to this restaurant we had the Dove Sole was cost £26.00 and was well worth it. The only thing I would say is why paper napkins? The tables had linen table cloths so why not linen napkins. And being very picky why were there no fish Knives and folks.

We decided to visit this beautiful restaurant at the end of our holiday to Ilfracombe. It was fully booked prior to this. From the start of the evening we had a very warm greeting from the owner who served us throughout the evening. She served the majority of the tables on this particular evening where she was personable and adapted to the needs and conversations of the varrying customers. One particular drink that I had requested was not in stock and the owner very kindly went to a local bar to order some of the product so I could enjoy it with my meal.

We were provided with recommendations for our tastes all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. This evening we had the special (Dover Sole) and also the steak, all of which was cooked to perfection. The sides that came with the meal were flavoursome and were perfect selections for the the chosen meal.

Although we were completely full we couldn't resist trying the home made deserts. All of which sounded incredible. We opted for the rhubarb crumble which did not dissapoint. We found it a perfect touch that the owner had made all the deserts herself.

The evening ended with a great conversation with the owner about the local area and places we had enjoyed on our trip.

We both highly recommend this beautiful restaurant that had a very personal touch! We would definitely come back!
