We had a single room each - in an annex. Down the corridor to the toilet/shower. Not dirty but not that clean either. Well used. Electric shower. Bedding was clean and fresh. Carpets were filthy not been vacuumed for weeks and could do with a clean. Once the heating went off the room became quite cold. When we checked out at 9am the heating was still not on- minus 2C outside.

No internet any where in hotel. Logged in to the router but no internet connection. The reception area had internet for the hotel - but no connection for guests. There was group of Danes staying too and were not impressed with lack of internet.

Dinner was very good- perhaps a little pricey for portion size [ my opinion only]- but good quality and perfect service. The restaurant was busy- a refection on it popularity.

Breakfast was very very good. Cooked to perfection. Good selection of cereals and juices. Coffee was very nice and nice toast- not supermarket style bread

Speaking to the party of Danes after breakfast [they were a shooting group] - they stayed in the main part of the hotel and were impressed wi the rooms. So maybe it was just the annex that was not very good.

Would I stay here again- perhaps. But please fix the internet.

Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and lovely 4 poster bedrooms. The hotel was very accommodating when I asked for additional pillows in advance.

There were beautiful gardens and every morning there were ducks running around looking for tasty snacks.

We did however find that the staff always seemed to be missing. The first day we went for breakfast we were sat for 15 minutes before we saw any sign of life and the second day wasn't as bad but we still spent a considerable amount of time alone before being served.

Upon check out, I could not find anyone to settle our bar bill with and after searching the kitchen and reception area we ended up leaving.

It's useful to note that there is very little phone reception at the hotel and wi-fi only in a very small common area downstairs.

Room tip: We took the Spey Room with a 4 poster bed and it had lovely views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

After a long day travelling from Glencoe, through to Fort William, Loch Ness and Inverness we were struggling for somewhere to stay. How glad we were that we found this hotel. Tea room was clean with a great comfortable four poster bed, a large bathroom and soft clean towels. We booked the restaurant for an evening meal which was fabulous, the food was delicious and the service excellent. Breakfast the following morning was fresh and plentiful with lovely home baked bread. A recommended hotel for a break during your Scotland trip.

This is a good hotel, nice location and generally good and clean condition. We found the staff helpful and professional. Although a little tired the outside room we had was clean and tidy (we understand a refurbishment is on the cards); it is however great if you have as us a dog. One of the best things about this hotel is the food; their sales blurb says "basic food" however we found it near cordon bleu, try it!

Room tip: Outside rooms if you have a dog

We went for evening dinner and had a fabulous meal. Too full unfortunately to manage dessert! The wine was excellent and ambience was very relaxing. The service was excellent and very friendly. Would recommend. The single track driving up to the hotel needs some serious work. Very potholed - drive carefully!
