Stayed here a few weeks ago with friends, lovely little chalet with a great kitchen and super comfy beds. Five minutes walk from the beach and a leisurely stroll along the seaside takes you to Sandown.
Wifi was really fast even with three of us using it and the signal was crazy strong even giving us access when we say out on the lawn.
Great value for money will definitely be using the next time I come to the island.
Fossils Rest provides everything you need for a wonderful Isle of Wight holiday or mini-break. It is a quiet and peaceful setting, with room to park. There is a beach close-by, and also some lovely cliff walks with stunning views. It is a very short drive until you are back on the islands major routes, so is an ideal place to explore the island from too. The beds were roomy and the furniture in the living space very comfortable to relax in! It has a modern, spacious, shower room and toilet and is ideally suited for two or three people. The kitchen is cleverly space-saving, yet provides everything you need. The welcome pack including some Island goodies to get your stay started was a lovely touch, as was the useful and detailed information on amenities and attractions, both close-by and further afield. You can see that much time, thought and effort has gone into the design of the place. It felt very welcoming and we settled quickly and were sad to leave after a week's stay :( Diane and Ian were contactable and approachable if we had any queries, and had clearly gone that extra mile to insure we had a pleasant stay.
A lovely location overlooking fields towards Culver Down and with evening sunset facing the front of the chalet in a nice and quiet spot at the back of a small holiday park with plenty of well lit parking close by.
The chalet has been fitted out recently and has maximised the available space especially around the cooking area, and has a nice spacious shower unit. Beds are comfortable and the water was always hot. A nice flame effect fan heater provides cosy warmth on cooler nights if needed.
The welcome pack was a lovely touch, especially the milk, and a comprehensive info pack was available covering everything needed about the chalet and things to do.
A lovely stay and a great place to wind down and relax.
