Another lovely national trust. Beautiful house well preserved to say it had a fire. The furnished west wing is interesting to walk around. The woodland gives an enjoyable walk, and the climbing area and carved sheep are extra fun for children. The best part for us were the wonderfully maintained gardens. The gardeners do such a lovely job, we really enjoyed our visit here : )

I have lived in Northumberland a long time but have never visited Seaton Delaval Hall/to look around inside. I have seen the gardens before during the Chilli Festival. We had a great time talking to the amazing volunteer and staff team. The cafe has the most amazing cakes!!It even has homemade gluten free options for weird folk like me! ; )

We have visited the hall before and just wanted to see the gardens before going home. They were beautiful and very peaceful. The Norman Church was wonderful with very informative and friendly guides, we were so glad we were able to go inside.

The approach to the hall is very impressive up the drive towards the hall. Unlike most National Trust properties the rooms are largely empty. There are volunteer guides to tell you about the chequered history of the hall. We only were able to go round the hall - a rain outburst cut short our planned look around the grounds so we left after a drink in the cafe. A local friend who is a volunteer at the hall tells me that by missing out the grounds I had missed out on the experience. I intend to rectify this in the future.

As part of our choir trip we had arranged, in advance, to sing to visitors for an hour. The staff were very accommodating and we were able to enjoy the hall and gardens before our impromptu concert in the stables - which attracted a small but discerning audience! A lovely place.
