“Lovely house, lovely location.”

Alistair was very helpful. We called on the way to the house to ask if we could arrive a little after 3pm and he was very accommodating. When we arrived he was very friendly and gave us a relaxed look around the house.

The house was equipped with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

I grew up in St Lawrence so knew the area quite well but I didn't recall Marine Parade which was an ideal location. A two minute stroll down the hill to the Esplanade, and a five minute walk uphill to the town centre.

We spent a week at 6 Marine Parade. The house is perfect, a real home away from home. Minutes walk to beach and shops and some great restaurants. Probably the best accommodation we have ever stayed in, we can see why it is so popular, Ventnor is a gorgeous sea side town. Jamie gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. Would definitely stay here again, 10 out of 10.

“A happy week”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I stayed at the house with my husband (in the first floor room) and my sister (she was on the top floor). It was a perfect one-week home for us, despite arriving to find that the boiler had broken down (we could still shower as there is an electric shower in the first floor wet room). The boiler was fixed by the Wednesday evening and its absence did not get in the way of our enjoyment of the house and of Ventnor.
The owners provided a useful and comprehensive information sheet prior to our stay, which was a nice touch - and there was a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge when we arrived. The first thing we did was sit on the lawn in bright sunshine and enjoy the wine. The house has a great location looking out to sea and the lawn catches the sun all day.
Jamie, the owners' representative, was an absolute star. He could not have made us more welcome or been more friendly. He contacted me to ask when we would be arriving at the house and met us off the bus in the centre of Ventnor to show us the way.
We have been to Ventnor before, but got to know it better this time. The Spyglass was great fun; the view from the Rex Bar was fantastic and our evening at The Exchange (where we saw a play) was enchanting (It is the first play I have seen with a dog in the audience!)
Like the previous reviewer, I did not find the house cluttered. It contains some interesting pictures, books and artefacts, but there was plenty of room in the main bedroom for our own clothes and belongings - and enough room in the top bedroom for my sister's things.
The kitchen was spacious and very well stocked - it lacked only a cafetière.
Towards the end of the week I noticed a small leak from the wet room into the kitchen and so we started to shower in the bath rather than the floor of the wet room. I am sure the owners will get this fixed as soon as possible.
We, like several of the reviewers, were sad to leave the house at the end of the week and I am sure we will return next year.

“A beautiful location and a home from home!”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were not disappointed at all with this property. It is beautiful inside and out. We loved all the pictures and different things to look at - I disagree with others where they say it's cluttered and there is nowhere to put anything. That is untrue...they have the odd thing here and there, but it's by no means cluttered...more cultured and interesting...which gives the house a more lived in, cosy and personal feel. There is bags of space for your belongings in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Who wants to stay somewhere sole less - try a Travelodge if you want that! (and Travelodges come in handy to for different types of trips, so not knocking them either).

The property was clean and well maintained. It's situation so close to the amenities, restaurants and the sea are lovely. I loved going out on to the balcony at all times of day and night to be able to watch and listen to the beautiful ocean. The house is certainly large and spacious - everywhere - so only positives for this property and it's location.

We had one of our best holidays ever in Ventnor, some lovely restaurants, especially the Spyglass (three visits in one week!) and Foggs (amazing food). If you get chance, download the treasure trail of Ventnor off the internet (Treasuretrail.co.uk) - we had a great 2 hours wondering around solving a murder mystery with our 9 year old. Some of the road works were a pain, (well outside Ventnor) around the island, but once you got to know where they were you could avoid them most of the time. Highlights were the two walks from Ventnor West and East - both enjoyable days out without the car. We also went to Black Gang Chine (a strange mix of everything kids like), The Needles (car parking is £4.50 so make sure you make a day of it and use Tesco vouchers to ease the cost of the rides), The Garlic Farm (interesting) and Steam Railway (Sunday and Wednesday are best days to go as fee includes an excellent bird display).

My nine year old cried when we had to leave as he'd enjoyed it so much - bless! We are even debating whether to book again next year - so thanks 6 Marine Parade for providing such a fantastic place to stay on holiday! Jamie was also very helpful during a few issue of our week away - always a phone call away.

“Lovely house with an ideal setting waking up to the sound of the sea”

We stayed at Marine Parade in June 2014. A lovely house with lots of extras included & interesting artefacts to look at in the lounge.
We arrived early on Saturday but Jamie was happy to let us drop our luggage off & go & explore.
There was building work going on next door but this wasn't much of a disturbance as the work didn't tend to start before 8am and were finishing up for the day on our return. They were very friendly as were all the locals.
This was a very relaxing holiday, sitting on the swing seat in the front garden listening to the sea and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach was wonderful!
The only fault was the cleaning. We arrived before the cleaner & were shown round the property before it had been cleaned. We noticed that the bath hadn't been touched as there was dirt in it from when we were shown around and there were a lot of crumbs on the worktops in the kitchen so this also wasn't touched.
