“Perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 31 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

I was looking for somewhere to stay in Paignton that would accommodate my mother, who is quite immobile. I found Newbarn Farm on-line and phoned to see if they had any availability. I spoke to the Yvonne, who was very helpful and described the layout of the Lambs Gate cottage so I decided to stay there as it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. When we arrived, there was a lovely bunch of fresh flowers on the dining table and a plate of scones and jam, fresh clotted cream in the fridge with a jug of milk, there was also a few tea bags, coffee sachets and drinking chocolate sachets which was a lovely surprise, arriving after a long journey it was lovely to be able to make a cup of tea. There is a downstairs bedroom where my mother and step father stayed and having the shower room on the ground floor as well, made it ideal. There is also a bedroom upstairs. Both rooms are quite big and have wardrobes, bedside cabinets and dressing table with plenty of storage space. The beds are very comfortable. The site has a number of cottages and the area is very well looked after. I met the owners, Yvonne and Simon and they were very nice as too was their son who showed us to the cottage when we arrived. You can take dogs but you must not leave your pet alone in the property, but why would you, Paignton is very dog friendly. I cannot wait to go back to Newbarn Farm.

We came to Paignton to visit family, we didn't want to stay in the busy town. Newbarn was a fantastic find, 10 min drive out of the town, sainsburys, morrisons, asda & soon an Aldi all within 5 mins. However Newbarn is on a hillside the views where lovely. Very dog friendly, our cottage backed on to fields, so it was doggy heaven. Owners were very helpful. cottage ideal, adequate kitchen utensils. Small play areas for kids. Definitely will stay again.
