Stayed several nights while visiting family in Wigan. Didn't have a car, so the Brocket was closest for reaching destinations by walking. The room was generally clean, bathroom in better condition than the room with stains on the carpet and upholstered chair. Staff very polite and helpful, but the bed was beyond horrible. Filthy ancient mattress which I couldn't get comfortable on. Hope Witherspoon's renovations include new mattresses!

Hi,

Thank for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Brocket. Sorry that your stay wasn't up to your satisfaction and I apologise for the state of your room. I can assure you that this is not the normal standard of room at the Brocket as we are in the process of refurbishment.

Hopefully you will give us another chance to show you that we do normally provide a very high standard of cleanliness.

Regards.
Peter

This is a large busy Wetherspoons pub with rooms above and free parking. Staff were all helpful.
The room was large with a KING size bed, comfortable and clean although a bit dated and basic fittings. Location is 10 minute walk from town centre or £4 in a taxi.
The pub was very busy on a Saturday night but no music or loud tv's as it is Wetherspoons. Once we went to bed we never heard the pub guests.
On Sunday morning we checked out at 11 and the place was really busy with breakfasts, seemed all Wigan was there but only 20 minute wait for cooked breakfast serving.
Food was again typical Wetherspoons, cheap cheerful and filling.
We would use it again.

Excellent service from friendly staff who were all dressed up for Halloween. Daniel - with the weird and scary eyes - served us our meal and drinks and was extremely pleasant.
We stayed overnight. The room , although not large was perfectly adequate for a one night stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Extra towels and pillows were already in the room for use if required. The shower pressure was good and the water was hot.
A couple of minor points -
* we couldn't figure out how to switch the lights on over the mirror in the bedroom (123)
*some of the grouting around the bath needs a bit of attention as it is becoming discoloured.
We also had breakfast which was good value and tasty. Love the free refills of coffee!
This was our second stay and we will stay here again.
