“Fantastic base for Beamish Museum”
Reviewed 30 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

The cottage was of a very high standard throughout and beautifully clean.
It had absolutely everything we needed, including entertainment for the evening - good choice of board games, books and DVD's.
Fully stocked with all the pots, pans, crockery you could ever need.
Easy access to all the cleaning equipment so you could leave as clean as you found it.
Just round the corner from the Beamish Museum. Also only 2 miles from the Coast 2 Coast cycle route.
Just lovely
Only downside - very difficult to find - needs an illuminated sign!

Wow - this cottage is a true hidden gem and I'm so pleased we found it. So picturesque and surrounded by greenery. Perfect if you want to get lost in the countryside with a proper country pub on the door step. Not far at all from Durham and Newcastle city centre though.

We found everything we needed for a truly relaxing break, the cottage is well equipped, clean and had a lovely cosy feel to it. Would highly recommend it to anyone!

“Fabulous Cottage”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We rented the cottage the first week in September, this was our 4th Visit to this fabulous cottage. This cottage is like home from home, well equipped with everything you could need. It had a new sofa and chair which is so comfortable. Very clean on arrival and well looked after. The beds are comfy, with lovely bedding, lots of nice towels to use. Everything you could possibly need in a kitchen is there. It is situated in the middle of a meadow, so no one bothers you. We had wonderful weather on our stay so constantly sitting outside. We visited the Black Horse pub just 5 mins up the bank for drinks and food. Easy driving access to Hamsterley Forest, Stanhope Town Centre, High Force. We drove to Middleton in Teesdale which was fabulous. There is an Asda 10 mins away for any supplies you may need. I never rent anywhere else, this is my only holiday cottage I would go to, it has everything I could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. Bonus too is you can take a dog, and mine loves it
