I booked this hotel as a treat for our 30th wedding anniversary, we stayed at Langley castle for our 25th so thought we would stay at Lumley castle this time.
I booked the date night offer with wine & chocolates, an allowance each in the restaurant from the a la cart food menu, breakfast and late check out.
I found their website helpful in choosing which room I wanted to stay in and upgraded to the Queen Anne room.
When we arrived and checked in we were given a lovely card from the staff which was very kind of them.
The room was lovely with a sumptuous rich and dark ambiance.
The meal in the restaurant was delicious and we were given great service from the friendly restaurant staff especially Imogen.
They encourage you to have a look around the public areas and we did as other guests were doing; we got talking to some guests and as they had stayed in the hotel before they directed us to the dungeons! We then had a lovely evening walk around the grounds and over the golf course and through a forest.
Next morning breakfast was cooked to order but they also had pastries, fruit, yogurts, cereal fruit juices etc that you just help yourself .
We has a fab time and we have happy memories of our anniversary stay :)More
