The owners and staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Always enjoy our visits for Sunday lunch, the food has been superb and is great value for money.
A nice place to eat and drink, also dog friendly.

Arrived here just as lunch orders were finishing, The kitchen very kindly did us a cheese ploughmans and a ham hock ploughmans which were both lovely. Was a bit surprised at the price of £10.95 as they had a menu on the bar for lunch for 2 courses for £12.50. Understand we had come in a bit late which must be annoying when you thought you had finished lunches.

4 people,a birthday lunch, it was excellent !
half mile off the A39 near Barnstaple good car park
the food was faultless presentation and service 5 star. 3 course meals all for 60 pounds
good lunch menu, I hesitate to use the word gourmet but it felt that way to me, the service and presentation impeccable, we were not rushed each course brought to the table at the right time. For starters we had langoustines in a Thai curry sauce, then between us we had pan fried hake served in a warm tartar sauce, served with a small fish cake and battered gerkin, and braised ox cheek served on a creamy mash, all served with seasonal fresh veg. Not ever having had ox cheek before, just the sound of it wasn't appetising, but seriously was melt in your mouth and the flavour delicious. All this 5 miles from our door and we were unaware how good it was. Would certainly revisit it the near future. Well done to all.

We were looking for a lovely meal for our last night in Devon and after reading reviews decided on the Pyne Arms. What a fabulous choice! We popped in in the morning to look at the menu and decided to reserve a table for this evening. The young lady that served us in the evening was the same one that had served us coffee in the morning and she was lovely, helpful and very polite on both occasions. The food was amazing, we had ham hock terrine and the goats cheese to start, then the hake, lamb and duck for main course and as the food was so awesome, we had to have a mini pud and coffee to finish off such an amazing dining experience, two crumbles and a ‘cracking’ creme brûlée! We would recommend to anyone and wished we lived 240 miles closer as it would then become our local!!
The trip advisor responses are also entertaining, with a brilliant sense of humour and reality, great job! Being in the trade we appreciate how subjective some reviews can be!

My wife and I stopped for two nights B & B as a start to a touring holiday. It proved a marvellous treat, with a beautifully decorated en suite room, modern yet warm decor, a huge comfortable bed and a very quiet rural location that justified the extra drive. A bonus was the discovery that we were only a stone's throw from the National Trust Arlington Court and the National Carriage Museum - well worth a visit.
The majority of Trip Advisor reviews major on the superb restaurant cuisine and service. The husband and wife owners, both professional chefs, have over the past couple of years invested further to provide excellent B & B and have awards to show why the Pyne arms is very popular locally. Our evening meal and drinks were faultless and good value.
A great start to our holiday !
