Great cottage, fab location. We visited lots of local attractions and shops. Was very child friendly and perfect for the dog, lots of lovely walks on the doorstep.
We will be returning!!

The location on the map was a good 30 miles away.. and I advised the owner but it does not seem to have changed. As we were coming from Scotland it was lucky that we looked up the post code otherwise we would have been miles away, at night, without a clue!

The downstairs bathroom had no hot water to the bath, - the plumber came out but could not fix it.
The loo had holes where skirting boards were missing. The floor surfaces were covered in paint spots. The utensils in the kitchen were disgusting OLD and WORN OUT. Located next to Pub and Garage,noisy..
The space to park your car in was so small that you could not open the car doors, and had to clamber out over the neighbours garden

It would have been helpful if there had been a welcome pack, even if it was only a pint of milk, a few tea bags and some bread and butter, as is normal these days.

The local shop closes at 7.30 and there is no food in the village, not even the pub who are not allowed to even sell crisps.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property?
Liked best: the only thing going for it was the location, nearby the A1

“Lovely cottage in need of modernising in a nice village.”

Firstly, on the holidaylettings website we booked through the mapped location of the property is inaccurate by about 30 miles! We were expecting to stay about 5 miles South of Skipton but found when we were nearly there and entered the postcode into our sat nav that we were staying just next to the A1(M), some 35 miles East of Skipton. This was disappointing for us as we were visiting Yorkshire specifically for an event just outside Skipton. However, the village of Bramham is nice and the pubs were welcoming, although served no food on a Saturday evening and no children are permitted after 7pm in either one of them... justeat.com came in handy!
Mill Cottage itself is lovely and really pretty on the outside, with some interesting original features still evident, and is conveniently located virtually opposite the village shop. It could also be really special on the inside with some modernisation...everything, right down to the pots and pans and carpets but with the exception of the sofas and bedding, felt very dated. The additional shower in one of the bedrooms was handy although the fully glass panelled doors on all of the bedrooms need changing - awkward when you're sharing the property with friends!
All of that said, we did have a lovely weekend and would happily stay here again.
