“Beautiful cottage in beautiful location”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We booked the Rundales Cottage on the amazing reviews of previous travellers and the photos of the amazing rooms and views surrounding it. Knowing a little about the area, I knew it would be a great base to explore the Eden Valley and further afield.
We were not disappointed at all! We were warmly greeted by Chantal and Richard who have done a wonderful job with the cottage which is decorated and finished to such a high standard - a real home away from home! The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to prepare meals, however we found some wonderful grub at the local New Inn in Brampton (just a 5 -10 minute walk along the country lanes). The shower was powerful and hot at the end of a hard days walk and the woodburner was a welcome addition on the cooler nights. We were lucky enough to have some amazing weather whilst visiting, and was lovely to sit outside and top up the tan! And at the end of the day a lovely warm, cosy and soft bed awaits you.
Would certainly recommend this cottage to friends and family, and hopefully can find some time soon to return to Rundales Cottage. Many thanks to Chantal and Richard xx

“BIJOU and DELIGHTFUL - A GEM”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Within easy reach of the Lake District, this delightful cottage sits in a quiet hamlet, near Appleby. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a well equipped kitchen, it was easy to settle in, light the wood burner, and relax. The owners live next door and were fantastic, especially with recommendation for good local food venues and pubs. The beauty of the local towns and villages is worth the discovering, with majestic scenery as a backdrop.
Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Lovely cosy cottage. Quiet location. Tastefully decorated and equipped as a home from home. Located within easy distance of Lake District, Eden Valley and Hadrians Wall.
You need a car and wet weather gear and walking boots to fit in as this seems to be the fashion. Lots of interesting walks. The owner was friendly, discreet and helpful.
I can recommend Hadrians Wall as there is lots of scenery, history and fun. Great with children, especially Lanercost Priory.
Only problem was that the beds were so marshmallowy that we didn't want to leave them.
