Spent a long weekend (3nights) at Arran Lodge and loved it. Plenty of space for my group of ten and very comfortable. A quick 5 min walk into the village centre. Would definitely come again. Thanks
Proximity to shops and Resturant's very good. Good amenities in the house for kids and adults.
The bedroom configuration was difficult for our group. We believe it was lacking in typical rental details; had to hunt for wifi, no instructions on how to heat home, etc. one central renters instruction book would be nice.
Arran Lodge was the perfect venue in which to gather the family together to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday in August this year.
With 6 very active children and 5 (not so active) adults to accommodate, the spacious proportions and very pleasant surroundings of Arran Lodge turned what could have been a stressful couple of days into an extremely relaxing and memorable weekend, enjoyed by all.
From the moment we arrived we immediately felt at home. All of the rooms are of a very generous size, very comfortably furnished - and very clean! The owners have left little nick- nacky things in the rooms too - especially in the kitchen - in case you have forgotten anything (essentials... like wine & beer!) that you can then replace before departure.
The kids disappeared off to explore all of the rooms, bagging their own suite of bedrooms on the lower floor, leaving the adults to enjoy peace and tranquility on the upper floor.
The facilities are excellent, with the kids enjoying the games room in the converted garage and the large garden bordering the River Teith. The river itself, though initially looking deep, turned out to be quite shallow and would be safe enough for older children to play in. For the grown ups there is the hot tub and barbecue area, with a lovely views over the garden.
Callander and the surrounding area have plenty of places to explore and nice places to eat out. Lovers of Monty Python or Outlander might want to check out nearby Doune Castle, used as a film location for the Holy Grail and for the television series.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Arran Lodge to those looking for accommodation in the area, especially for larger groups/families, as it really swallows everyone up with space for everybody. We are looking forward to staying again soon and hopefully someday to gather again to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday!!

Lovely house in beautiful setting. You felt you were put on the country but at the same time a stones throw from shops etc .Owners responded quickly to all enquirers. Would definitely recommend
Our extended family were in the area for a wedding in Callander, and had a very comfortable stay at Arran Lodge for the long weekend. All seven of us had ample bedroom space, with plenty of extra beds and bathrooms to go around.
The spacious living room and many of the bedrooms looked out on the garden and river, providing a very tranquil atmosphere, and the dining room sat 13 comfortably when we had friends over to stay. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, the hot tub overlooking the garden was a real treat, and the weather was so nice that we even managed a BBQ.
I only wish we could've stayed for longer! Would highly recommend Arran Lodge for a luxury stay in the heart of the Scottish countryside.
