I wouldn’t recommend this place the person who was running this on the particular day we went in did not have very good customer service skills and I thought was quite rude with way he spoke to me and wasn’t very friendly I am local to Christchurch and I found it very disappointing to say the least

Out for lunch. Great menu and reasonable prices. Portions were generous so need for dessert! Comprehensive menu for all ages and appetites. Plenty of tables and piping hot food.

Shame I have to leave this negative review but the The Clay Studio seem unwilling to help get an unfair parking charge dropped with their parking management company. The parking ticket I was issued clearly states the location as 'Clay Studio The Fountain' and I have receipt from the Clay Studio to prove we were there. Two other cars at the same time who were also parked the Clay Studio bays also received tickets! We have spent 100s of pounds going to The Clay Studio with our children over the years, we will now be going elsewhere. The clay studio should be asking evey customer where they have parked on arrival and issuing physical permits to display in window as per the small car park managment signs. If you visit and park in their car park don't be surprised to get a ticket!

It is regrettable you are leaving a negative review about The Clay Studio when your grievance is actually with our landlord who contracts a parking management company to monitor the use of the car parking spaces in the private car park. This facility is available to the various businesses and residents of The Fountain (our building). The Clay Studio, residents and other business pay rent for each parking space, we rent four parking spaces from our landlord. This is a great amenity for our customers and is free of charge when visiting us. We do not reserve these and they are available on a first-come basis. Our car parking spaces are numbered 26 to 29 and are clearly signposted. We state on signage and on our website to park in only our marked spaces and to register your details on arrival so they can be logged into the parking management company’s database. Additionally, we regularly check with customers if they have parked correctly in the car park and on the day of your visit we went around periodically checking with customers.
The major problem is you parked in space 25 which belongs to a flat resident which is why you received a ticket. The parking management company rang us after you complained to them and we confirmed that you had visited the studio that day. We also supported your subsequent email complaint to them re-stating that you were a visitor on that day albeit not parked in one of our spaces. Unfortunately, we have no control over the private parking spot you left your vehicle in. We were able however, to get the charge removed for the other two parking tickets to which you refer to as they were parked legally in our spaces. None of our genuine customers parked in our spaces have ever had to pay a parking fine since the scheme was introduced. We have asked that your ticket be cancelled as it was a simple mistake. However, it would appear that the parking management company have not removed the fine. This is totally beyond our control. The Clay Studio cannot be held responsible when someone parks in a private parking space.
There are also three inexpensive public car parks within 100 yards - our regular customers appreciate that they have to use public car parks if our spaces are already taken.
We are disappointed you have left a negative review about our studio when you and your family have been regular visitors and enjoyed yourselves many times with us. In light of this perhaps you would like to revisit your comments on your enjoyment of The Clay Studio.

This is a great place to be creative, have a coffee and talk t some very interesting people. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding painting and glazing of pottery and are always on hand to assist and advise. They also have a very good menu and are only to happy to meet and dietary requests.

If you think this is just a place for a rainy day then you are so wrong!!! I have found a new outlet for my creativity and rekindled my love of clay. Over my last few visits working on a few pieces, I have found the staff and owners passionate about their business. Along with rewarding loyalty to their customers and making sure it is value for money. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing and they are on hand for any advice or expertise that may be needed in creating your masterpiece. This is definitely going to be a regular in my life now.

If you have not tried it yet... go on, give it a go! Oh, and the Latte and Egg Mayo sandwich are definitely worth a try.
