A visit to Symonds Yat is a must when visiting the Forest of Dean. We parked at the higher level car park, went to the Observation Point , then walked down a reasonably challenging pathway to the River Wye. After lunch by the river and a river cruise we then climbed back up to the top, which was hard going in places , but exhilarating at the end.

Enjoyed a fabulous morning at Symonds Yat - my partner and I did the pink woodland trail which was one of the most clearly marked I have ever been on - the viewpoint was stunning and topped off with tea and cake all for a reasonable car parking charge - highly recommended!!!

Spectacular views and scenery.
A must do walk esp with the dog ! .
Quite a steep incline on the way back tho ... but plenty of resting places along the way .

We visited during the early evening so plenty of car parking space and not at all busy so enjoyed the well signposted walk up to the top where the views were breathtaking. Though the facilities were not open there were excellent information boards regarding the wildlife and area.
