An update from Gemma’s review, our spa day, started off good, the paper we went and requested was delivered to the room, we went down for breakfast which was well stocked and tasted great. After breakfast we went for our spa treatments and our trip changed because of the spa staff, they done everything in their power to make our time enjoyable and the massage we both received was great! The lady on reception needs to learn some customer skills off these members of staff!

Booked directly with hotel on spa package. Tried to book treatment by phone and took 5 attempts as they don't return calls - note the successful call cost £3.80 as it is an '08' number! The hotel is ok but lacks soul. The treatments booked were unavailable despite being on the website and advertised in the room, and although offered a replacement treatment, the spa manager lacked customer service skills during this exchange, to say the least. The air conditioning vents above the pool were growing something that would have excited Alexander Fleming - they were disgusting. The hairdryer in our room had been tested '04/2018, due again 04/19' despite the fact it is only month 3! The breakfast was not good, stick to toast as the cooked food had obviously been there for ages. We did wait around 10 minutes to be met and seated at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, although restaurant almost empty. When all this was told to recpeption on check-out, I was thanked for complaining politely and told that if I mentioned these issues next time I book, I 'may' get a free spa treatment - they didn't offer any reduction of the bill, not even taking the wine off the dinner bill. Needless to say, I won't be booking again.

We are staying here at the minute in an upgraded elite suite, from the minute we got here the service has been terrible. We booked and paid directly and you are suppose to get a free welcome drink, we were not even offered one! We was not given any info on where to go for breakfast or what times. Now the most annoying part, this has been booked for my partners birthday which is today as a relaxing getaway, so far it’s far from it all due to the hotels incompetence! We booked and paid for an upgrade to elite room, in the elite upgrade you get all upgrades to make your time more relaxing, free newspaper in morning, not offered one. You get a well stocked coffee machine which we had a choice of 2 coffees, an old out of date iPod station. A super king bed, which yes we got and was the only thing they seemed to get right! A sleep kit which was no where to be seen and when we asked at reception she didn’t have a clue. Luxury robe and slippers, there was no robe and no slippers, we went and asked at reception for them so we could use the pool and these were gonna be sent up to the room. We get in the room wait an hour,,nothing! Get ready to use the pool facilities whilst waiting, get fed up of waiting and we go and ask the same person again, who tells us they are in the dryers. She couldn’t even give us a token to use the lockers as an apology for the robe issue, So we have to walk from the pool to our room in towels. We go out for tea and upon our return ask for the robes and slippers, these are in the room now apparently. Get to the room and no robe or slippers, ring down and she says she will get them sent up. A knock and a lady with 2 tatty robes, no slippers, no water that’s also suppose to be in the room and was requested. This has ruined our weekend away and we will not be recommending this to anyone! The package sold is not what we are receiving! DO NOT pay for an upgrade! I will update my review tomorrow after our spa treatments but I don’t hold out much hope that they will be any good based on our experience so far! Let’s hope I don’t get any verrucas from having to walk about barefooted! Also if you go out for tea don’t expect to be able to park when you get back!

Visited the spa today using a groupon deal. Started with a hot stones massage and finished with afternoon tea.
The staff were all really helpful especially the bar staff. Facilities clean. Would recommend this as an afternoon out.

This one night stay was lovely. Arrived just before 2, checked in and was allocated a room on the 1st floor. We had afternoon tea then visited the Spa facilities. The pool was a nice temperature and the hot tub is a bit dated. The steam room was out of order, which was a big disappointment. The changing room were adequate and a towel and locker token given free. We had booked a treatment each which was great the staff were very professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had reserved a table for evening meal at 7pm the food was excellent the best fillet steak I have had. My only concern was the waitresses kept disappearing and I had to leave my table to find a waiter to order dessert. On the up side we were given a 25% voucher off food which came in handy. We will be visiting this hotel again.

Room Tip: As for a ground floor room.
