Stayed two nights in one of the annexe suites. Beautifully situated and tastefully decorated. Everything we could possibly need and more. We had our dog with us who sleeps in the car, though I think there is a facility to cater for dogs. Lovely grounds to walk in.
All the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly and we hope we will be able to have a return visit.
The dining room was so pleasant to be in and the food delicious, dinners and breakfast. The salmon teriyaki I had was sublime and definitely one of the best meals I have ever had. Can also recommend the bean tagine and steak. So a big thank you to the hard working staff ,we really loved our stay.

My husband and were lucky enough to have stayed in this wonderful hotel whilst on a holiday-cum-business trip. It was an absolute delight and we would definitely return.

When we first arrived, we were greeted at Reception by a lovely friendly manager who booked us in and showed us to our room. We were not booked into the actual hotel itself (which is an old Hunting Lodge without a lift), but rather into a brand new, recently built chalet/room on the grounds. The wood smelt lovely, was warm, cosy and inviting, and the decor was top class.

We had wonderful views, and slept really well. The room was decorated very tastefully with tartan highlights, and the bathroom was a very large wet room with an amazing shower, that was strong with lots of hot water.

Breakfast and dinner were lovely too. Breakfast was a standard buffet style
but we had lots of choice, and the hot food orders were taken by a waitress and brought to our table. Dinner was very good too, and delicious. There was a slight glitch in my order for dessert, as I received something different to what I’d ordered, but this was taken off our bill.

Dogs are welcome, and if one wanted to have one’s dogs with one, the staff set a table in the library away from the main restaurant for a couple doing just that.

Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were efficient, friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Booking the restaurant for dinner is a must as it is also a popular venue with the locals.

Meeting the Highland cattle ended our stay nicely!

Dinner on August 24th 2018

In calm surroundings, building and rooms are impressive, and make for a special evening.
Staff a bit formal, maybe not overly friendly.
Fine food, not much to complain, except lamb, a bit tough

We were very pleased with our breakfast and dinner at Muckrach. They had a wide selection of traditional breakfast items, and their chef did a wonderful job with both preparation and presentation.

We tried two nights for dinner and the food just was not up to par for the local high standard we were appreciating. However, the staff are lovely and tried so if the food can come up to a higher standard, I would recommend it. The teriyaki salmon swims in a squiggly pond of sweet overcooked noodles, so just don’t get that one.
