A few days ago, my family and I went to Craggan Outdoors for a day of archery and Gorge Walking. It was absolutely incredible!

Great staff, wonderful facilities. Craggan's crew didn't miss a beat and they went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience.

Absolutely recommend.

We recently went canyoning for our brothers 18th. We had the best time, so much fun! The instructors were amazing! Would highly recommend.

We went down to Craggan Outdoors as a Football Team to play Foot Golf. This was great fun, the course was picturesque and challenging and had the whole team smiling and laughing the whole way round.
Price was very reasonable at £15pp for 18 holes. There was also a 9 hole option.
Great facilities, lisenced cafe area with good selection of food and drink.
The manager Keith was very friendly and great communication whilst dealing with our booking. We will be back :)

Fished the Craggan fishery for the first time while up visiting friends, the ponds are nesseled in nicely in the middle of a golf course with lots of nice shaded corners where you can set up for some relaxing fishing, I fished on a very very sunny day, which made the fish a little more difficult to find, however with a little moving around there was plenty of fish to be found. I ended my day with 24 fish in the net and one for home for dinner. Highly recommend Craggan outdoors and fishery to anyone looking for a day of fishing or activities

Thanks for visiting on Saturday Jordan, & for following up your highly successful day with this review. You're the current record holder for this season with the 24 fish in a day, so will be interesting to see if anybody else is able to better that over the coming months. As a non-fisherman myself, it was interesting to speak with you & hear how even on a bright sunny day you were able to move around the fishery as conditions changed in order to find where the fish had decided to lie up. Thanks again for spending the day with us, & hope that you'll have the opportunity to return next time you're visiting your friends in the area.

Fantastic Day doing Archery and raft building. Ross and Dan were fantastic leaders. Mega phones needed for the raft building! Unfortunately the lunch was VERY disappointing, tiny portion of what seemed to be either tinned or cuppa soups and worked out at half a sandwich each if you were lucky, a bit of a rip off at £7.85 a head or £109 for 14 people. Just as well the activities were so good.

Thanks for visiting Niomi, & for taking the time to leave a review afterwards. I understand from your group organiser Kirsty that it was as the result of you having visited us previously with another group, that you recommended that this group book with us, so thanks also for that recommendation. Couldn't find a review left after that day, but pleased to see & read your thoughts on how 'great' & 'fantastic' the activities, instructors & overall day were for you & the group this time around. This ties in completely with the five feedback forms which were submitted by group members at the end of the day, each rating the activities 10 out of 10!

To be honest I was surprised to see your feedback about disappointment with lunch. This is firstly because after you'd eaten & we were clearing away plates etc, everybody had said that everything was good, & likewise at the end of the day when I was speaking with Kirsty, she also said nothing about any issue with the catering. The first that we knew of any dissatisfaction was when seeing some comments on the feedback forms after the group had left. Of course we British have that thing of 'not wanting to make a scene', but as I said to Kirsty in our follow up emails last week, if nothing is said at the time, then there is no opportunity to discuss & resolve on the day.

That said, I followed up with Kirsty last week, & hence the delay in this response whilst we went through that process. She reiterated what you've said about activities, instructors & the overall day being 'great', but thinking lunch portions were small, quality wasn't good, & price was too high. I did make the point in response that we serve thousands of lunches each year, & whilst our standards for some reason didn't meet your group's expectations, if we had our customers seeing an ongoing problem, then I'd expect that this wouldn't be the first review on here to mention any issues with our catering. It is of course not the main event of the day - that's the activities, as you & Kirsty both highlighted - but equally it would make no sense for us to devalue our quality in that department, & overall brand & reputation, with poor quality lunches between activities.

I can only apologise that for some reason we didn't meet your expectations in this area, but of course do need to respond with an overview of what we offer so as others that may read your review & our response can make their own judgements, & follow up with any queries when they may be booking with us.

So, there were 14 of you in the group, & accordingly 14 rounds of sandwiches that were freshly made on the Saturday morning for your Saturday lunch, using a mix of good quality brown & white farmhouse bread, with a mix of fillings - ham, ham & tomato, cheese, cheese & pickle, tuna mayo, tuna mayo & cucumber, egg mayo, egg mayo & tomato - with the tuna & egg mayo being freshly made up especially for the lunch - no shop-bought pre-mixed fillings - & all sandwiches were generously filled. The 14 rounds were cut into quarters, so 56 quarters - four per person, which is a standard serving - spread across three trays, each augmented with tortilla chips, & a tray was then placed on each of the three tables on which members of the group were sitting. And whilst we don't make, or claim to make our soup from scratch, it is a decent quality catering soup that is used, served in standard size café / restaurant soup bowls. So a standard serving of soup & sandwich is £7.85 per person, which we feel is a fair price. Not cheap, but equally not expensive, & when considering that as it is 'sit in', £1.31 VAT @ 20% has to be included, the effective net price if comparing with High Street takeaways - which was some of the feedback that Kirsty gathered from the group, & where VAT is not applicable - is £6.54 per person.

Again, apologies that the lunch didn't meet your group's expectations, & as well as our disappointment at that, ditto that it seemingly knocked two stars off the review that you felt able to leave after such high levels of satisfaction with the activities & rest of the day. Thanks again for the recommendation & repeat visit, & hopefully we'll see you & other members of the group back with us on a future occasion.
