We had booked a table for Easter Sunday quite a while ago. On booking my Mum asked whether it would be the normal Sunday Lunch Menu and was told it would be. She requested a table for six at 3.30 to be told this wasn't possible we could make it 4pm. We were not seated at our table until at least 4.30 which I know although it was a busy Sunday I feel is unacceptable. No apology. The menus were on the table when we sat down which were just the normal menu not the Sunday one we asked whether this was right to be told yes it was.
We had to ask the staff to take the order again not very customer friendly. We asked to order wine to be told he would send someone over to take that order. Surprise surprise no one came. Starters came promptly all very good.
After a wait the main course came. On previous visits the veg had been lovely and as a family who love veg we were very disappointed. The battered cauliflower was amazing but to serve carrot and swede and carrot and cabbage is a little strange. it looked like the cabbage had been cooked with the carrot as it had taken on a very strange orange colour not very appetising. I wonder whether this was the veg that was served at the start of service or whether they had run out and cobbled this together.
We have visited a number of times and as this was a special day with family we were left very disappointed
